I went into town today with a couple of guys from work who wanted to check out some Omegas ( yeah, I know, I was trying to get them to look at Breitlings but they were having none of it!!). As it happens the AD we went into is also a Breitling AD, so while they were going all "James Bond" over the Seamasters, I was quietly checking out the Breitlings.

Anyway, I tried on a Montbrillant Legende with a black dial for the first time ever (I'd only tried the bronze before).... and I can safely say that I absolutely loved it!!

I didn't even notice the silver hour markers with the gold hands (which look so much worse in the pictures than in real life). I think I've definitely found my next watch! :D

BUT, when the time comes it will definitely be from the States. UK list - £3960.00 (that's almost $8000). Best price from the States - $4675.00 (which is less than £2400). Even with import duty I'll still save over £1000. It's a no-brainer.....

Ha ha - I knew it would happen eventually.

I am so happy with my Legende - it's becoming the only watch I reach for when I put a suit on at the moment. It's a great watch - I'll even forgive you for being wrong about the havana dial.

Hey Driver8,

Which dealer do you use in the USA to get such a good deal? Is it an AD?

Thanks,

Nick

I quite like the bronze/havana/mud( ) colour dial Roff........, but not enough to make me want it. The black however looked truly SUPERB in my humble opinion.

The black is nice - I just have too many black dial watches. I like the fact that the Legende gives a different look with each of the different colours.

In all honesty Nick, that price was from a couple of mins searching the likes of PrestigeTime, Jomashop, etc. Another mate of mine of has recently bought from AuthenticWatches and he got an awesome deal on his Navi.... and it came with a fully stamped up warranty booklet! What more could you want?

Given the premium that UK AD's charge even long-term customers like myself (I've been using mine for more than 10 years), I am pretty sure I will be looking for my next watch either from the internet or from a discount-happy Stateside AD recommended by the guys on here. If net based companies can supply warranty booklets too, then I am really running out of reasons to stick with UK AD's. It's a shame, but money talks I'm afraid..... and with what I've spent at my AD in permium over the years I probably could've bought another 3 or 4 watches if I'd bought them all from the net.
