Very good video - I would hate to do that for a living, seems extremely repetitive the work, but an incredible operation.

Makes you really wonder. While it's true that there is automation involved in the manufacturing process, I was really blown away by how much manual, labor-intensive processes still go into the making of each individual timepiece on our wrist. It certainly accounts for the slight variability and uniqueness that each timepiece is imprinted with during assembly. Breitling is certainly NO simple quartz watch!

And it explains why once in a while somebody gets a dud. Its that one that they hit with a hammer.

Sure...that was also implied too. :lingsrock:

Well, all cool aid aside and without regard to controversial design decisions, one really can't fault them for quality... At least so far as I come to have experienced.

@ crod... Maybe he did it for the better name... Fusion Man... really?

Now I'm starting to appreciate just how much money they must invest in production equipment. Some of the automated fixtures for holding movements almost seem rather indulgent

Gotta say, I really enjoyed that video. Watched it on my 55" tv, and it was very well done. And if this doesn't make you want a new Chronomat, I don't know what will.

Great video, although I don't agree with many things in it. More specifically, the way they try to suggest that a pilot's trusted legible time-measuring equipment would have to be an Onyx dial Chronomat B01. Really? A big shiny watch that has a not-so-legible face? For a pilot arabic hour markers would be mandatory as a start, and polished surfaces (especially a polished bezel) would be a big no-no. Contrasting subdials and sort of two-tone subdial designs would be absolutely unnecessary. For a pilot something like an IWC Mark XVI or a Bremont MBII would seem like a much-much better choice (regardless of the price tags). And yes, I know, pilots only look at instruments on the dash, but bending the truth that much is just ridiculous in my book. Is Breitling so desperate (due to low sales) that they try to shout big things now and expect regular folks to believe any nonsense? It's a bit like Rolex hired professional divers to state what they need to time diving is a yellow gold Submariner with a few diamonds tossed on the case and dial.

And is Breitling's best bet for brand ambassadors Travolta, the jet man, and some actor virtually unknown outside Bollywood?

Sorry for the rant... I'm just sad to see how Breitling scr***d up an otherwise great show-off of their high quality production facilities. Because one thing is for sure: when it comes to quality and construction, they're among the top 5 Swiss watch manufacturers. But when it comes to design and marketing, well ... they have a lot to learn from the mighty Rolex. Breitling too should build from their great past, rather than focusing on how their products can be used as instruments in the present.

After watching the full 50 minute version I really am excited about my visit tomorrow now.

The video was good homework for me before the trip.

Thanks for posting.

I've just got round to watching this, very interesting, especially the bits about how many checks and levels of quality control they go through and secondly their claim to a 100% dust free environment, um, I beg to differ on both of those points!

I had a Navitimer Caliber 01 with a duff movement, and Breitling UK currently have my Chrono-Matic 1461 which has a fibre under the crystal in the dead centre!

Apart from that, an interesting video.

Stef
