Today was a really good day. A Blackbird showed up on my porch! :) I found a seller that had one in good condition and it came from an AD...well, it was also the all black Blackbird, was in a brushed steel finish, and had the more unique riveted/indented pilot bracelet...all of which were exactly what I wanted and so I couldn't resist as I realized this was my favorite Breitling, and so I pulled the trigger. I got it today...took a little cleaning solution mixed with honing oil and using a micro-wheel I brushed over the few minor blemishes on the bracelet and it looks brand new. I figured I'd share here as everyone else would just be like "Okay, a watch. Great. Is it made by those guys that make televisions?" But honestly, I am really happy. :) (now I can eat Ramen Noodles for the next six weeks.) [I don't mind.]

Never heard of that method of retouching the brushed areas, but if it works then well done for finding and original method :)

Enjoy the watch, that model is highly praised on here!

I used to own and run an automotive detailing business, so working and refinishing polished, satin, brushed, and even plated metals are something I got good in. If anyone is interested, I can type up how to refinish the brushed Breitlings as it's quite easy if you have a little patience and a keen eye.

Congrats on a beautiful watch. Love the blackbird, and looks like you picked up a real clean one.

Congrats Nic!

Was this the one posted FS on TZ and/or Watchnet? If it is I saw this one and was contemplating this one for a very very long time. But I got a surprise of my own too this week so we're even now.

I reckon that'd be worth a write up.
