How about a Perrelet? Chances you ever come across one in the wild are rather low, they have manufacture calibers, some of them have dates and there are generally no cyclopses involved... I saw one in the metal tonight, which reminded me of this thread.

Well they have one in house calibre, and as they only unveiled it 2 weeks ago it's not in any available watches yet.

I was of the opinion the P-181 and P-331 were Perrelet's own designs... Might be mistaken though...

Can you shed some light on the issue?

Perrelet's in house (which even then is dubious as Festina developed it - the parent company) movement is the Alternance 10. P-181 is a modified 2892-A2, 331 up to this point was produced by Soprod as an exclusive movement for Perrelet. Perrelet dropped hints about it being in house because it was supposed to be, but Alternance 10 wasn't ready. Starting now the 331s will use the Alternance 10 movement, though whether it's modified or just rebadged I don't know.

A bit like the "Panerai inhouse that really is a Valfleurier" use of "in house"

More "in group" then, as the A-10 is 100% Soprod as well and, at least in Switzerland has been presented as such...

Yeah it's weird because Perrelet are claiming that the movement is in house and Soprod are claiming that it's theirs - all very bizarre.

Well, the line between exclusive and manufacture is a rather blurry one indeed. Maybe their point is in using only parts from within Soprod/the Festina group as opposed to purchasing bits from Nivarox FAR SA, Incabloc SA, etc...
