Veraet cleans better - watch all the gray liquid come off your band after spraying, and they bracelet links flex as smooth as silk.

I'm not trying to sell it. But, if you try it you will be hooked.

Cheers.

My buddy is a goldsmith, I use his professional ultrasonic for my bracelets, neck chains and rings. I leave it in for about an hour with the bracelet to get all of that black crap out from between the links and on the pins. I use soap and a soft toothbrush for the case. I'm really picky about the cleanliness of my watches.

Holy cow - that must be a grunged up bracelet! My ultrasonic doesn't even have that long a timer, when I am cleaning parts when servicing I only give them about 7 - 8 minutes in each of the wash and rinse cycle.

I have my jewelry store with ultrasonic so a couple times a month I will dip
My all diamond super avenge bands in for about 10-20 seconds and steam them with my steam machine to keep them always looking new, I am also anal about my watches.

I bought a 6-pack of those compressed air cans, the keyboard duster stuff...it works great for getting in nooks and crannies after using warm, soapy water (and sometimes a soft toothbrush).

All that black stuff on the cloth after a polish, is metal thats been removed from the watch.

Er, yeah, quite a few threads here on Cape Cod Polishing Cloths - not only does it clean the watch, it's a weight loss program for it

Straight up shower, soap, then dry with a towel. No special care.

After hearing your praise and the praise of others, I bought one of their Elite kits. I must say, as someone who has spent much of their life working with cleaners and polishes, I am impressed. While it is good for all finishes, it seems exceptionally well-suited for brushed and delicate ones. It comes with everything you need except Leather Honey.

Spray your band and watch all the gray gook come out. No soap residue to attract dirt and grime - that is what shortens the life span of your bracelet.

To quote the old Fram commercial - "Pay me now, or pay me later".

Let's compare watches in five years.

Cheers!

Britemax make a set of polishing liquids.
Easy cut and Final Shine.
Final Shine is ideal to clean and preserve the metal surfaces.
Easy cut is aggressive stuff, I wouldn't use it on a watch but Final Shine superb as it cleans and seals at the same time.

Hope that helped.
All the best
Nick

I am not sure I would ever wash a fully assembled watch in this manner. I guess it should be OK though, assuming the watch has passed a waterproofing test, etc. I just have never thought of doing this I guess.

For me, I am not sure I would wash it at all. Like most others have noted here, I too use a soft cloth to clean my watch. The only time I wash a watch is when its fully disassembled and the movement is nowhere to be seen when I get stuck into the rub a dub process. Dishwashing liquid in that case works a treat. A nylon tooth brush for hard to get into locations does work well, but only apply lightly and sparingly.
If you are keen to keep your watch as clean as a whistle, and it’s only been on your wrist and not subject to dirt or grease, etc, then at the most use some soft wipes and then a damp tissue to wipe of the residue. Then go onto cleaning with a soft cloth. If you want to preserve your watch when rubbing down with a cloth, then use some museum grade cream polish. One without any acids or fats that might attack your watch is a good place to start. Look for the testimonials and the guarantees from manufacturers. There are a number out there that are very good and suitable for cleaning and polishing a watch back to its original lustre without damage. You will also find these polishes guard against future cleaning issues to some esxtent, as they protect the surfaces of your watch against the ravages of life.

You will find that most creams, polishes and cleaning wipes will not have an effect on the bezel or the pushers/crown and these are sealed against the ingress of liquids.

Jim
