It looks all original except for the dial. It's either off something else (probably not) or is a redo (probably). You can check this link to see what it should look like.

Thanks for the feedback vintage! I was actually looking at that same site last night and what I found made me decide to ask for the experts opinion. Chronomat 808 sample pictures that I have seen so far all use batons on the dial instead of arabic numerals. It's the earlier Chronomat 769s that had the arabic numerals on the dials, but these also had the 0 - 100 scale in the middle that this one on ebay seem to be missing.

It looked good at first glance, but I had this feeling that something just didn't seem to be quite right. You're spot on - it was the dial that gave me that feeling.

Cheers,

Rhoenil

That dial isn't genuine - definitely a redial which has to lead to an assumption that it started life as something other than a Breitling.

Thanks Roff! "When in doubt, don't" is a good rule of thumb.

Been on the lookout for a vintage Breitling that I can get without breaking the bank. Was looking at Top Time pieces before I stumbled onto this. Good to know that I can count on the experts on this forum for their valuable advice.

Cheers,

Rhoenil
