Tried to wear mine as a daily and ended up trading it for a Crosswind Special. Navi World as a daily was too big and too flashy.

That's a valid point, but I suppose, especially on the bracelet, that any Navi would be. I really have to stop by at an AD sometime soon to get a better Idea of this things's size. I know the big pilot with its 48mm is too large for me, but then, it has that very simple dial (not that there's anything wrong with that) which sort of makes the watch look "not that big" and by way of relativity, shrinks my wrist to the point of ridicule... The world is different... The sheer amount of info on the dial makes it look huge and that way the proportions are just fine when it actually is just that... huge. Or so I hope :)

The Navi World is a fantastic piece and was my grail Breitling until the Navi 01 came out. However, it is a big watch, so you definitely should try it on. I find the white dial Navi World to visually appear much larger then the black dial; the white dial also looked much larger on my wrist. It's worth noting that I have pretty small wrists, though- 6 1/4".

In short, the World is a great idea if you feel comfortable wearing a piece that big. I personally didn't, so I was happy about the Navi 01 being released. You also could look at the Old Navitimer Mecanique. I LOVE the white dialed version, but it's exceptionally hard to find and you'd have to get a used one.

People! PLEASE wear your watches. They are not meant to be safe-queens. Every ding you accumulate you will remember when and why and it will truly become yours, and not some damn shrine in the soft glow of your safe lights. They are instruments, and tools, meant to be USED. Answer: NO, not stupid. Wear the thing, punch anybody in the face who try and takes it, and kick them in the balls on the way down. Don't change your oil with it on, but a few nicks and dings add to the character of YOUR watch. The Navi is awesome! Do it!
