Let's just say the new BUSA President, formerly of Panerai, loves limited editions. It will be a beast, rare, and hard to get. But that's what makes it special...

:tmi: Although I am happy to hear this, it is seriously conflicting with my plans to purchase the new baton marker SA. Thanks for the update Roff!

Jeez, guess I need to work on my English

The picture I saw was identical to the Avenger Skyland Blacksteel except for the red and white minute markers on the 30 minute subdial

So yes, it had stencilled numbers, it had the red numbers around the outside for the breakdown of the hour into 1/100ths - you know identical

So when you say identical, do you mean...

Just kidding. That would be a great thing to get!

Good info!

I'll definitely be keeping a lookout for it!

It'll just a real shame if they stick the boring old Diver strap with the tang and buckle clasp on it. :? Surely it would deserve at least an Ocean Racer with a DLC'd deployant!

Looks very good, but it does beg the question - why make it look so similar to the AS Blacksteel?? :?:

On the subject of Blacksteel, I found the attached thread while trying to find out exactly how tough DLC is -

http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=74924

It's worth reading all the responses as one guy managed to scratch his DLC coating of his watch in quite an innocuous way. :? And apparently DLC wears DLC when in contact with each other - hence probably why Breitling haven't made a bracelet. I wonder how the pushpieces will hold up over time.....

Much as I love the look of these black watches I don't think I can bring myself to risk the potential wear issues. Shame. :(

That's the same picture that I saw - just a higher res PDF version.

I agree that I don't really understand why it's just a larger AS - as I indicated in my original post, that alone made me think that the original rumour wasn't true.

Not going to be on my list as I already have my AS - heard anything about any other LEs this year Thomas?

I was considering it after hearing on here how tough the coating is, but after scouring the net (including quite a few engineering and metallurgical sites) I've finally decided that anything surface coated is not for me.

Never mind - it means there's one more out there for you guys to snap up! :)

I am actually pleasantly surprised how resilient mine is to the normal wear scratches that we all experience, probably because it isn't a polished finish so doesn't show them so much, but obviously if it does get scratched it's more serious than a non coated watch - no different to the rolled gold really (but more noticeable).

I think I've satisfied my DLC watch needs now though, onto other things (until there's a Blacksteel DB of course - now there's an idea :!: )

I've got to be honest, I don't love it as much as I thought I would, there isn't anything significant to set it apart from the AS... Is there any chance they might be trying to fake people out a bit? Perhaps this isn't the final design choice.

:?
