Read all of this before you get excited - there's a big but coming, however....

I have heard rumours of a 2008 limited edition Super Avenger Blacksteel - limited to 3,000 pieces.

BUT (told you it was big)

The picture I have seen, which I wasn't allowed a copy of, looked like the Avenger Skyland Blacksteel. The only difference was that the 30 minute sub dial had the SA like white and red minute markers.

Don't know if the rumour is true, but feel free to speculate - I guess we need a visit from Thomas.

 It isn't April the first is it Roff? If this turns out to be true I might have to look into it especially since I've read so many reports about how tough the DLC actually is. Was it on a bracelet by any chance?????

Doh! This might put my SA purchase on hold. Any idea when this would get confirmed or denied? :P

It was on the Breitling rubber strap - again like the AS, which is what's making me a little sceptical.

Hmmmm, sounds a bit dodgy to me.

I'd have thought they'd have put an Ocean Racer on it with a DLC clasp if it was genuine....... :huh If it had the tang and buckle clasp again, that'd be a deal-breaker for me anyway.

Oh well, let's keep our eyes peeled folks. You never know..........

Why on earth put a rubber srap on it, surely it should be steel, with an option to change?

Roff - The crucial question - Batons or Arabic? Or was it the same as the Skyland?

There have been discussions about the problem with a DLC bracelet, so that doesn't surprise me - though OR makes sense if they could DLC the deployant.

It was arabics because it was the same as the Skyland - as I said, the only visible difference I could see (I'm not wearing my Blacksteel today) was the 30 minute subdial - everything else appeared identical to the AS.

Well, this still works for me, I have been wishing for a Blacksteel in a larger format like the SA, I even mentioned it to my AD, as in it would be great if it were possible to run a limited edition batch of them for a special order ;)

Now im getting confused. When you say "same as the skyland" do you mean that it had stenciled numbers?

Jeez, guess I need to work on my English

The picture I saw was identical to the Avenger Skyland Blacksteel except for the red and white minute markers on the 30 minute subdial

So yes, it had stencilled numbers, it had the red numbers around the outside for the breakdown of the hour into 1/100ths - you know identical
