Well, technically the dial isn't new, just the accents. Omega has taken their silver dial Aqua Terra, added blued-steel hands, red and blue dial accents, a yellow tip on the seconds hand, and a polished center link on the bracelet. I'm still trying to figure out if I like it or not. Based solely on the renderings, I find it more interesting than the standard silver dial, but I also think there may be too many colors going on, and that, as a result, it may not be as universally wearable as some of their other colors (e.g., the grey dial). Thoughts?

Yep, not sure what the colours have to do with the Ryder Cup, but it's that version.

As always, reserve full opinion until I see one, but this one kind of frustrates me and only partly because of this watch. I think the colors may be a bit much. It seems like a case of trying too hard to make a sport watch out of what is really a dressier watch. I could be wrong--I liked the "golf' version when I wasn't sure I would. What really ticks me off though is I have long felt that the brushed/polished bracelet has needed to be an option on the standard ATs, particularly the white/silver dial and the black dial. Again, the wrist proves what's right or wrong, but I feel that a brushed/polished bracelet would make it even more difficult to justify a DJ II. I might even like the AT better since the larger fluted bezel on the DJ II is almost uncomfortable for me with all its bling factor. So still an all-brushed bracelet on those, but the dress bracelet shows up on the sports version? I hope it would at least be an option going forward on the other ATs.

I officially turn old tomorrow, so my kids tell me. I'm grumpier at the latest offerings from a lot of people ( Buck Rogers Breitling, Blancpain 500-colors-and-numbers Fathoms, now this) so I'm wondering if its just me. But I don't think age takes away common sense.

It's a little too patriotic for me. Those colors seem to cheapen the very classy / sporty look of the original silver dial IMO. The hands on the previous styles have always been white gold, are these now steel? As for the center polished link, I prefer brushed. Actually, the fact that the original watches have full brushed bracelets was a huge factor in me purchasing my Grey face. I have the VERY polished Pro II on my CSO, and that is swirled beyond belief (haven't attempted a cape cod yet) so I was really trying to focus on a brushed watch. I didn't second guess my choice when I saw the Golf version, and I'm definitley not second guessing on this one. With all that said, and as I type this with my AT on... man, I love everything about this watch.

I had wondered if there was some kind of sports tie in. My first thought was yachting, just based on the colors. About the only tie in I can see with the Ryder cup is maybe the yellow tip is a nod to the yellow stars on the EU flag, the red and white is a nod to the US, and blue is common to both. As usual the website provides no information. Is it an LE?

I find the Golf to be attractive, but it has an air of novelty about it that I think probably won't age well, which stems from the green accents. I don't really know why, since the green on the GMTIIc makes it look classic. This new one is even more questionable in its use of color. Conversely, your grey dial AT is a classic that just seems to get better with age.

It wouldn't surprise me, since the Golf was/is. That said, one AD nearby me claims he has ordered the Golf, and expects it in the next few weeks, although I'll believe it when I see it.
