Hi All,

I just wanted to update everyone on some news I heard today from a local Breitling rep. I was at my local AD and I was looking for a watch for my 22/20 red ocean racer strap that I paid way to much for on eBay. After deciding from pics that a PVD finish looks the best I have been out looking at my options. I have decided I want a Avenger Skyland although I haven't seen one in person and they havent made it for a few years. Anyways, I was mentioning this to the rep and he said later this fall they have a all black Avenger limited edition being released to he US only. I think he said 250 units. Its not a super avenger, just a Avenger he said. He also mentioned and repeated all black a few times. Black case, black dial, black hands, black logo and a little white. It should be interesting. Just thought I would chime in with that info. Love the knowledge you all share.

Excellent development - having run out of models to throw DLC at Breitling are starting again at the beginning!

Yup, they should have stopped at the Avenger Skyland Blacksteel! How exclusive would that be now with just one model in DLC.

Must surely be the turn of bronze next?

Oh yeah, Breitling's well known reputation for innovation in case materials makes bronze an obvious next choice for them

LOL, yes, I know what you mean! I still think they should revitalise the use of titanium in the range, some of the best ever Breitlings came in titanium.

I've just bought a Helson Stingray in bronze and it's fantastic, colour gets better day by day, however, I don't think Breitling could lend themselves to bronze, but, maybe if they add a pink bezel or two...........................

I could see them release the things in ceramics... That'd be a step forward and along the lines of what IWC is quite successful in doing. They'd have to be able to create a better bezel for the SO range first though.

Yes but as we know, Breitling don't do market research.

I'd be happier with a lighter Super Avenger. Aside from the Ti Chrono Avenger I have been keeping my eye out for a Ti Seawolf

Ti has some serious functional advantages but its look is either a love/hate. I personally dislike how it looks but I've bought ti watches in the past because of how they perform and I'd buy them again. I am waiting on a watch maker to move to more 'precious' metal such as tungsten or iridium...obviously they would be too heavy for 99.99% of people but the 'rarity' aspect seems to be what sells.

They don't? I thought they usually asked the one guy they really want to keep as a client (and owner) what he wanted before each release... The rest of the world isn't really market anyway, is it?

If the PVD Avenger has a chocolate diamond bezel they'd sell at least 8 of them in Scottsdale a night

Can't speak for Hublot, but I have a Lum Tec Tungsten M25 and it's an absolutely superb metal for making watches. Yes it's heavy, but not ridiculously so, and it's ability to resist scratches and other damage is second to none. I've accidentally caught mine on a brick wall before............ and not a single scratch. Fantastic metal.

Just wondering If anyone has the new super avenger PVD coated watch, I was curious how the PVC coating holds up, and if will chip off if it hits something. Love the look with the black diamond bezel thinking of purchasing one in the future.
