Greetings Everyone. I just got my first Breitling - as a gift. I've been mostly an Omega person for years, dismissing Breitlings as much too large for my taste. But this one is just the right size. I actually like it more, now that I've had it for a couple of days. I especially like the dark green (rubber?) bezel. Out in the sun it looks great with the black dial and rubber strap - kindof military looking. Now i'm cruising the boards trying to learn more about it. It has a special edition number, but I found a list here of all the special edition watches and its not on it. And, there are a lot of special editions too, maybe too many, and they don't look much different from the non-special editions.

If I were to get another Breitling, is there one model that is a "must have", sort of like what the Speedmaster is to Omega fans?

Welcome to BreitlingSource. Iconic Breitling models would probably be Navitimer or Chronomat.

Congrats and welcome to BreitlingSource! Nice looking GMT, can actually get three timezones on that one. Enjoy.

I would say the definitive Breitling model is the Navitimer.

Sharp looking watch. I'm not a fan of a lot of the Breitling models but that combo you have there is great looking. Really dig it.

Looks great! The detailing on this watch are unique from the regular SuperOcean, and the GMT is extremely useful. I actually really like the integrated rubber strap as well.

Cheers and congrats.

Congrats on first Breitling. I like GMT watches a lot. This has a nice dial change over the regular SO. Looking on BLing site the GMT lugs/bracelet look different than typical SO. Can the strap/bracelet be changed or is it integrated? If it can be changed is there a screw of sorts into the lug (like Paneri) rather than typical springbar?

Welcome and nice new watch there. I have not seen one of those in the metal, so I have a new excuse to stop by the AD. Though I recently sold mine (by necessity more than choice) the Breitling that brought me here is the Navitimer.

It can be changed, and the part number is 140S. But I dont think it has spring bars like on the clasp end. The side of the lugs has screws, so i guess you would remove the screws and the pin should come out. I haven't tried it though, so maybe someone else can confirm...

The GMT is useful. I have it set to Ireland, Singapore, and Pacific time, as you can see in the pic. It's handy for work.

Looks great! I would say go for a Navitimer as your next Breitling.
