congrats, quite the beautiful piece and nicely written, though, with all due repect to WUS, the audience here might have been a better fit.

a kind of tradition here, let me welcome your TOC with a wrist shot of it's forefather,

Very much enjoyed reading your story Sum, I will not add anything more as you have covered it all very nicely.
I will only say, welcome to the TOC owners club and mine is saying hello ;-)

Good fortunes to you, & your families (human & horological).
It may never be mentioned, but I think tachy scales look
better, & seem more authentic when they go all around, &
include the 1000 notation. It will never be referenced, but
they appear more balanced as opposed to others that are
limited to 750, or 500.

Congratulations and thanks for the story. I too started out looking at Speedys and ended up with a TOC. I agree with you about the long lugs, they're my least favorite part of the watch. Mine is the silver dial which I think looks great. Unfortunately, I quickly discovered that it can be difficult to read -- while shopping I'd always worn my reading glasses so didn't notice the difficulty. Lesson learned. Monday I'm stopping by the AD to see if they can make me a decent deal on a trade-in for a black version. A couple of months ago they had a black LE. Fingers crossed. Again, congrats.

Ye i think the black/black would def have the best legibility. The (minor) problem with the LE is that hands can get a little lost in the silver sub dials hence with black sub dials you wont have that problem. See if you can compare side by side if the LE is still in stock, then decide from there. Either way you cant lose - both stunning pieces.
