hello,

I was just looking at Blackbirds, and got confused with those two:

A4435910-B8-438X
A4435910-B8-435X

Is there any difference between them except one is polished and another one brushed (am I correct at all? )

Thanks in advance,

M

Possibly just that they have different dial configuration or case material.

Not familiar with the Blackbird so can't be specific. My dealer book doesn't cover that model no. so can't be any more help.

Somone will know.

The full model numbers are composed of the short form model number, followed by a code for the dial, followed by a code for the strap or bracelet.

A4435910 makes it a blackbird (not sure if the new one has a new model number), B8 makes it a balck dial and the straps are as follows:

438X - dark brown - calf
435X - black (I think - for some reason I can't find this code) calf

If im not mistaken, there was an old model, referred to as "bluebird", as well as a newer model with a blue dial limited to something like 250 pieces or so, but not referred to as bluebird for some reason.

This was covered a little while ago.

Secretly I just wanted to see what a quote within a quote within a quote within a quote within a quote ......would look like.

Does anyone else have a copy of or access to the dealers book with all the configurations?

Just curios.

Sorry guys, I just couldn't resist... :D

The website I found those two is this:
http://www.jomashop.com/brwiblwa.html

and I really surprised that you can't find one of the serials.

Does it mean they sell "almost genuine" watches?

regards,

M

The only difference I notice is that one is a 'tang clasp' and the other is a 'deployment clasp'. Hope this helps.

I've noticed you're a proud owner of Blackbird.

Is it the newest version they've released?

What can you tell us about this watch? How would you rate it comparing to others?

Is is worth of additional 2k?

Last but not least: if you had a chance to buy it again, would you?

Regards,

M

It's not that I can't find that serial - my list of calf reference codes doesn't include black and doesn't include 435X.

By elimination I'm guessing that is black - obviously there is a black calf option.

And for those not looking through all the other threads, there are a lot more than 250 blue face Blackbirds - the 250 was the original limited edition some 11 years ago - there are others.

My Blackbird is not the new polished version. It was released in 2007 I believe. I love it. The combination of polished and brushed gives it character and distinguishes it from other watches.

Whether it is 'worth the additional expense', that is really unanswerable because it is too subjective. I simply saw it, tried it on and fell in love with it.

I recently bought an ocean racer strap for it and I love that look as well.

The answer to your last question is simple: yes!

Cheers.
