I just realized that I have made a real boob of my self by asking where I may find a good replica Breitling.I guess this forum isn`t for me after all.You see I`m not as well off financially as most of the members here and can not even begin to think of ever buying a genuine Breitling.Five years ago maybe but after having come close to dying and ending up on disability my resources aren`t as rosy as they once were. Again if I pissed anyone off or offened anyone I`m truly and sincerely sorry. This forum is for big hitters not wannabe`s like me. How do I unregister thankyou.

I see you've deleted your first post. Very wise.

You've not made the best of starts but why not stick around and learn about the real thing. We're not all millionaires on here and plenty like me are happy to buy the big hitter's cast-offs once they've bought their shiny new toys

Btw, look in the replica section to see just how bad most of them are!

Sharkmouth is correct.

You could pay several hundred pounds for a "good replica" (oxymoron) which may tell the time but would still be a fake. You could also pay several thousand if someone were trying to con you - even worse.

Or instead of paying that much for a fake why not pay the same for an older/lesser Breitling which will feel and look 100% and which will give many years of joy.

I'm not a big hitter and although some of the guys here may be fairly wealthy but I couldn't tell you who they are.

I used to have an old Porsche (no I'm not wealthy) - but 'cos it was old and not a 911 I was never made welcome by other owners who were well off and had the best/newest etc. It's not like that here - it doesn't matter if you have a new gold Bentley or an old Stainless Steel quartz - everyone is welcome and treated as someone who appreciates the brand.

Hang around and keep your eyes open for a real bargain - we'll help to make sure you don't get ripped off.

:yeahthat from both BB and Sharky. We're certainly not all millionaires on here - but we're all united by a love of genuine Breitling watches. Yeah you could buy a fake.... but you'll know it's a fake and it'll probably look like a fake too, and will certainly not stand the test of time.

As BB said, there are plenty of genuine older model Breitlings out there that you can pick up for the cost of a "decent" fake, so yeah stick around here and join the family.

Can't argue with anything others have said. The only thing that everyone here has in common is a love of Breitlings - and that's all that matters. You'll get no more or less respect here because of the size (or I guess perceived size) of your bank balance.

There are a number of bargains available in the resale market, as others have said you can get a real used Breitling for similar money to a 'good' fake, and you'll be buying a Breitling that's just as good as a $100,000 watch (where let's be honest the majority of the money is going into the gold and rarity value).

Best of all, the fake experts on here can make sure that you don't get ripped off. If you don't have a Breitling yet - who cares, doesn't mean you can't enjoy, learn and contribute to the community.

Like the others say,
Don't go away!

I had my last Breitling for over 10 years, and it was that long because I couldn't afford a new one. The only way I got the one I had for 10 years, was because I traded in the first one I bought in the late 80's for around $500.00. It turned out, the dealer actually gave me $800.00 credit for the new one, so it more than held it's value.
It seems like some people here can afford a new Breitling on a regular basis, but I say good for them. Everyone here is on these forums because they love Breitlings. I guess if I had more money, I would have more Breitlings too. I'm fortunate to have any at all. I no longer have a car or own a home, but rent a small room and take transit. But I don't sit around and say "Poor me!"
Just keep going and researching Breitlings, and asking questions and making observations. Try and put a little money away, and over time you can probably get one. They are worth the wait! I was almost 45 years old before I got my first Breitling.

Cheers,
Carl

...couldn't agree anymore with all the above. If new is out of the budget, why not look at something used? You will still get that feeling that only owning a real Breitling gives you! Good luck!!

I have about a million dollars in debt, but hey I’m working on it. I strongly agree with all of the comments made by the others about sticking around. If you are patient enough you should be able to pick up a really good deal on a used Breitling. This has really been a great place for me to learn more about the watches I love.

Copperhead,

These guys have given you some good advice. Now I'll try
give you a little more. For the last few years I, too, have been
living solely on a disability check (car accident; paralysis of my
left arm, and other injuries). But here's how I've managed to
acquire two Lings.

My first Breitling, my Evo, I paid for by selling a few cherished
possessions. (Sadly I've since sold it) But my most recent
watch, my Skyland, I bought the oldfashioned way -- I
scrimped and saved, each month putting away whatever I
could, until I had squirreled away enough to pay for it. I
never touched the money I had saved, not a penny, and
there were times I could've used it!

I don't regret the sacrifices I made; the result -- the beautiful watch
on my wrist -- was worth it. Of course, I don't know your financial
situation; but if you can manage to put away a little each month, in a
couple years, maybe less, you could have enough to pick up a nice
used Ling, which would give you many years of pleasure.

Whatever you decide, don't give up on the Forum. We're here to offer
you important information, support and comeraderie. Best of luck. :)

Steve

Listen, take it step by step. Everyone has a unique financial situation but we all have a love for the craftsmanship and detail that goes into a Breitling. Do not go the "fake" way out. When I first came across the Breitling brand I like so many fell in love, but it was 5 yrs before I could actually afford one. While waiting for that grand day I tried to learn as much as I could and all it did was make me want one all the more. Some of your better jewery stores will carry quality used pieces that look as good as they did brand new for a lot less. You owe it to yourself to have the real deal. Hang in there!
