Another question for you...I was in NYC yesterday to drop my SOSF off at the 42nd street Breitling service center, or whatever it is. The guy is on vacation until Monday. However, I'm curious if I should even go there or just hit the boutique on 57th?

If you can ask you coworkers, if you don't know the answer, that'd be very helpful. I plan on heading back down Monday or Tuesday morning.

Edit to add: the problem is that when winding (not setting time nor date) there is a grinding type of feel and there is a lot of resistance. It runs via the rotor, as I was walking with it in my hand yesterday and when I got home it was running fine. It definitely needs to be sent to Breitling.

Jonathan our watch maker should be in on Tuesday. He'll take a look at it for you and let you know.

I can tell you that the authorized service center at 42nd street is good. They are authorized to do work on a couple of brands...not just Breitling. That center did work on my Breitling and Omega watches, and I was fully satisfied. I don't think he sends it to Breitling USA for work...Breitling authorizes that center to do the work for them, but they can order any parts they need to do the job, and they get regular training from Breitling on how to service the watch.

If you take your watch to the Breitling store and they send it back to BUSA, my guess is that it may end up taking longer for you to get your watch back unless the watchmaker at the Breitling store can somehow fix it.

I see. Thanks. 42nd street is much easier to get to coming from GCT versus going to 57th.

Have not got a chance to get to the city this week. Might end up having the fiance bring it in and drop it off for me on her way into work.

Swiss Watch Repair Center Inc
One Grand Central Place
60 East 42nd Street Suite 2328
New York, NY 10165

is this who you speak of?

koz, can you tell me if there would be a difference between having someone like Swiss Watch Repair Center Inc do warranty work vs BUSA other than transit time?

thanks.
