Hi everybody,
I am new here and joined to get information about Breitling, particular the Superocean Steelfish. I need some help from you guys. The Steelfish would be my first Breitling and of course I want a real one and I know there are lot of very good replica’s out there. This one at Ebay got my attention and it seems to me that it is genuine Breitling but the pictures are not very good that is why the finish of the steel bracelet makes me doubt. It comes with box and papers.
What is your opinion? Seller seems very reliable and has lots of satisfied customers.

Thanks for your help.

The fake on this model is very good. The rehaut looks correct, the S in Superocean looks correct.

Welcome aboard.
The whole package looks good to me.
Bracelet finish is also brushed, as it should be.

I’m sorry I don’t think this watch is real. The tail on superocean does not have the slow curve running downwards in it and it looks to short. Also, look at the elliptical holes in the 6 at 6 o’clock and the 9 at 9 o’clock, they should be a perfect ellipse and they are not.

Some tails are a bit shorter, but it still looks long enough.
Try to see the whole presence of the watch.
This one is real for me.

bnewbie, I completely understand and respect what you are saying, but unless Breitling have changed the shape of the 6 and 9 or it’s an optical elution in the photographs, they are not correct.

Looks the same to me - the one on the left is from this site in the Models section.

Looks OK to me as well but as for a pic of the s/n to check it matches the paperwork to be sure.

I think it looks OK too. BUT, I'd still never buy one of these without B's & P's.

Thanks for the extra info! The 9 and the 6 looks to me as the same at the Steelfish in the Models section.
Thanks for that comparison picture nr123.
The watch comes in the original boxes and papers and certificates. I dont want one without this.
I do appreciate all your input.
With all your help I still conclude it is real.

The only thing I can say in my defence in thinking that this watch was not real, is if it was made in or around 2009 when it was purchased, between then and 2011 Breitling must have changed the shape of the 6 and 9 or they are using two styles.
The steelfish that I brought in 2011 and the Breitling brochure of 2011 have the holes in the 6 and 9 as a true ellipse.

By the way, Also the seller plays a great role for me with this.
would he put his reputation on the line by selling a fake? For me the feedbackscore is very important when I buy anything on Ebay.

Gotta be very careful with that. One thing I've learned around here is that some eBay sellers with insanely high perfect feedback are some of the worst sellers of fakes out there.
