I know that's a big close-up picture, but I have to say I'm not that impressed with the settings on that one. For a start you can still see the ends of the engraved minute markers on the bezel. And secondly the edges where the cuts have been made aren't that great either - for example check out the "over-cut" on the right hand side of the 30. Maybe I'm a perfectionist, but that's not OEM factory quality. Sorry guys but I'd feel that I was degrading my watch by moving away from OEM bezels.

Understood, but my motivation for even considering an aftermarket bezel is two fold. First and foremost is the cost. The factory diamond SA's retail at $13k but can be had for a bit over $9k. Where as a standard SA can be had for $3.6k-ish and the aftermarket bezels range from $799 to $1500 depending on the manufacturer and crt count. That leaves enough cash for another Breitling....

or another 150 whp for my truck so I can join the 600 horsepower club ;)

The second reason is the modularity of having another bezel. I can have the stock one on for day to day use, or slap the bling on for TV time etc.

Fair point. If you want cost effective rocks, then aftermarket is the only way to do it.

Personally, while I know a bit about diamonds, I'm just not a big enough fan of them on gents watches to warrant any kind of outlay. But if I did, I'd have to go OEM. Lucky (for my wallet) that I don't want them!

Driver8 that is not the one I have. Mine does not have those notches or minute markers on the inner diameter because the diamonds are bigger and come all the way to the edge of the inner diameter of the bezel. I told you the one for $1699 is the way to go. On ebay I think he uses the same picture for both. I had the one for $999 for one day and returned it. Take a look at the picture I posted before, the one for $1699 couldn't be better. He also has another one he doesn't advertise on Ebay for $2600 that has even bigger diamonds. I didn't opt for that one because the one I got has big enough diamonds. I have an OEM diamond Bentley bezel and the quality of the SA bezel is just a good but it is not white gold like the Bentley one.

I think the bezel in this thread: http://www.breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2973 is the same one I used in my example for the poll.

Since it's a press on bezel instead of one you secure with the side screws... how do you get it back off?

As some of you will know from previous posts, I really hate diamonds on Breitlings...BUT ...doing my usual Saturday drift past my AD's ever increasingly-stocked window this weekend, I saw a white dial SA with diamond bezel, 2 rows in parallel...AND ...I have to say that it looked ok. In fact, I quite liked it!!!!! Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been added to my wish-list, but I won't be so quick to criticise in the future.

So, each to his or her own, and good luck with your hunt, In2Deep!

(£7k in case anyone was wondering - not sure on his likely discount on that piece).

I know what you mean - when I saw the one that I posted about last week I was pleasantly surprised by the way it looked. It didn't suit me when I tried it on (probably just as well), but it did look pretty good.

Ha ha! Hmmm looks like we're coming round to the rocks a bit!

I actually tried on a TT Chronomat Evo the other day that also had a diamond 18K rose gold bezel, and yes I did actually quite like it.

I spoke to Avi (I believe) at Liori and he tells me the bezel is 100% original Breitling, so there aren't any issues with the fit and finish etc. I just like the idea of having a single row versus the factory dual row. I think it "pops" more. Plus I wouldn't wear it all the time either, I just like the idea of having a bezel around thats a few quick turns of the screwdriver away from being bling-tastic ;)

Not knowing the bezels were real to begin with I picked one up on eBay with the intent of using it instead of anything they might manufacture on their own. Guess I have a spare now :P
