Ok guys, I'm looking for a daily wearer, at the moment I have a Two Breitlings, One is a mint Superocean Chrono, the other an equally as mint Headwind, what I want from you guys is to recommend something that matches the following, (I cannot go through all the models on the site !)
for starters I hate numbers on a watch and much prefer baton style markers, case should be 40+ mm's and preferably polished stainless case and bracelet, I'm really looking for a single dial type watch with full sized second hand, your help / advice / comments would be much appreciated,

Regards,
The Soulman.

Cockpits a good one.

OP: The seawolf has numbers and is titanium, but the new 2008 model has the stenciled numbers, a la the Skyland, and has a brushed/polished steel case. Ive seen one in person, and it is quite nice.

The only option that really fits all of your criteria other than the cockpit, is the superocean heritage 46.

If you just want a less expensive daily wearer, you could just go with the Colt Auto. I believe it's 41mm and comes with the fully polished bracelet and it has the batons instead of the numbers.

LOL...how could I have forgotten to mention that one.. Even worse is that i actually owned onw a couple months back. If the size is right, the colt is a terrific watch.

I love my Cockpit. I find that it is extremely flexible - I can wear it with a suit during the day and then change into jeans at night and not have it seem out of place.

It's clear, easy to read and, to me, timeless.

BUT, and it's a big BUT......

IMHO, the revised model for 2008 has ruined it - if you decide to go that way I would definitely try and get one of the pre re-design versions.

Ok guys would the Colt auto that you mention be the Colt automatic 2 ?

(As shown on the site under the Breitling model section)

If so, and if I can source one, what should I be expecting to pay, what would you consider a good deal ?

your help / advice is much appreciated,

Regards,
The Soulman.

On a steel bracelet, 1900-2100 would be good. $1900 would be pretty rock bottom, $2100 would be good.

Yessir. The Colt II Auto has only been around since 06.

Ok, now thats established, and as stated on another thread, I'll be cruising the Carribean for a week setting sail from port Canaveral (Orlando) on 25 July and visiting the following ports,

Belieze, Honduras and the Bahamas. (Freeport)

Which of the aforementioned do you guys think might be the best one to go looking for a Colt auto II ?

(Unlike me, wife wont want to spend half the holiday in watch shops :( )

Your advice would be much appreciated,

Regards,
The Soulman.

You have very similar thought that I got a few days ago.

Only difference is that I finally chose Cockpit. 8)

I know Colt Automatic 2 is also good one, so good luck!

Good luck with the hunt! I haven't been teher myself so I can't guide you. But I'm sure if you get the poolboy to entertain the wife, you can get the time you need at the watch stores... ;)
