The hours and hours of research and visiting 2 dealers in my state was tiring but I finally went with the Colt 44 black dial with Ocean Racer strap and brushed deployment. Ordered through Govbergs, thanks George for the service and Justin for the rec. I know many of you here do not like the new Colt or superquartz but hopefully I can change a few minds when the watch comes in and I put up some pics.

Deciding factors for me were my budget and not really liking SO 42 or SO 44. I like the 44mm and 14mm thickness of the Colt. The perfect size for my 7 1/4 inch wrist. I did not like the pro 1 bracelet due to no solid end links so I got the OR. Will add a calf or croc once long sleeve weather comes back. The Colt chrono 2 is nice but could not justify the extra $$ and the dial does not have wings on it which was a no-no for me.

Congrats, it should look great on the Ocean Racer. I like the Colt 44 and almost picked up the blue one a month ago, still undecided on a blue dial piece.

Congrats on your new colt and FORGET about what other people think!!!!! all that matters is that you like it. Ive bought several watches from george and he is great to deal with, i just wish i could go to govberg's as i live on the west coast but maybe someday i will get out there. Again congrats on your new watch and the O.R. Strap is great as well as the deployant it comes with.

Once you put the watch on, you'll never again care what anyone else thinks. I'd love to see some pics when it arrives.

Thanks, in my research I could not find any pics of the new colt on ocean racer besides a couple stock photos. I kind of went out on a limb that it will look nice so I hope I am right and will surely post pics to help the next guy.

Another quick question, are croc/calf straps available with a brushed tang buckle?

Give the old search feature a try (4th post down or so) viewtopic.php?f=5&t=37091 I rarely have to look further than BSource to find most pix. Not black, but here is my wife's Colt 44 on OR. She hardly ever takes it off.
