In the last few days I've been trying to decide whether to take advantage of my AD's discount to get another Breitling. The original plan was to take the opportunity to secure a Zenith Chronomaster XXT Open Grande Date, but they don't have any yet so that won't work.

I had a few other options but was leaning heavily towards a Bentley Mark VI Complications 19 - they had the white ("Silver Storm") one on bracelet which I was offered a phenomenal deal on. Would likely also add a croc - it's a very dressy watch on a strap.

I don't know if they have any other colours but I was playing around on the Japanese Bentley fitting site last evening (www.breitlingforbentley.jp/fitting) and saw the blue dial version. Then I played around a little more and tried it on the blue croc.......

Man I hope they can get me a blue one!!!!!

Can't find any pics online of that combo, but try it for yourselves at the fitting site - it's amazing!!

LOL, yep, it would be nice to have them all... have your watch case at home look like or put an AD's display case to shame... ah the dreams :)

Am I the only person that thinks the blue on blue Complications 19 is just incredible?

Maybe I've finally lost my mind completely.... :?

I love blue watches, but when I spend that much money on a watch I think I would go more conservative.. but that's me. It does look really amazing though.. the blue really catches your eye.

The blue is called Peacock Blue and it really is dazzling. I understand about being more conservative - but I think that with the bracelet as well it will dress it down enough when I need to - I have a fairly extroverted personality so can probably carry it off - heck I'm typing this with a TT Legende on.

It's also a relatively small watch at 42mm, which will turn it down some. May be academic if the AD can't find one at the discount price, but if she can - that one's mine for sure.

Sounds like a great plan Roffensian!

No, you're not the only one, but when you post in the middle of (my) night, what do you expect? ;)

I understand both your point and Admins point regarding odd colors. I have a few myself and my thinking is that when you reach a number of watches, the "risk" of the next one in a colorful combo increases. And as you say, with both the croco and the bracelet you can have it as you wish for the day.

Also good to hear that you can get a "regular" watch out of the deal yourself. I really think the deal you presented to the forum is amazing - both regarding the price as well as your generosity to share it. Unfortunately I'm not able right now to take part myself (more out of logistics than money) but I really hope you, your AD and the buyers end up fully satisfied.

For the two special watches you have on display I hope you'll be able to get the deals done. You should probably ask our forum friends in Dubai/Saudi if there's a sheik's watch forum...

The 19 is a truly great piece, but as you say Roff, at 42mm it's a little on the small side for my preference.

Speaking from experience, blue dials on blue croco look pretty spectacular to look at, but they are quite hard to wear on a daily basis with certain outfits. Jeans and a t-shirt is fine, but it looks hopeless with any kind of suit (even a blue one) IMHO.

If you remember, my first Navi World was blue on blue, and it just didn't get much wrist time as I spend most of my waking hours in a suit! But if you are't planning to wear it too often, then it may well be a fine addition.

The size thing doesn't bother me as much - with vintage 42 is huge so I'm used to both small and large.

I do suspect that from a practicality standpoint, if I do end up being able to get the blue it will spend most of its time on the bracelet, but I'll definitely be looking for excuses to crack out the blue croc. This is one watch that really seems to gain a different look with the bracelet than with the strap (even a tamer colour).

Hmmmm, yes.... it vaguely rings a bell Roff!

Where's Aeromansoor these days? He had a pretty special collection if I remember rightly. I wouldn't be surprised if your specials would interest him. Shame he's not been about.....

Got a call today that it's arrived at the store so off to take a look tomorrow.

Sorry though guys, it's likely to be just a deposit for now - I have a few dollars tied up elsewhere right now...........

Besides - this would be the 5th Breitling purchase in the last 4 months.........
