anything and everything that is done to the movement can be ordered from eta. Including engraving of the name on the rotor. Who knows, maybe breitling doesn't do anything but pop them in. But j can't say what or what they do or don't do to the movements. I don't work there

Well the last two sentences are undoubtedly correct, the rest, not so much

Was on a conference call at work when I read that. Literally made me laugh out loud.

Breitling has also acknowledged producing parts for ETA calibers for years as part of the process of preparing for a world where ETA didn't supply ebauches / chablons. Let's face it, ETA is just a name when it comes to the movements themselves, they are way past copyright protection so no need to buy an ETA movement from the Swatch Group.

Ok. I was just needing something to see you were serious

I assume we're into medical terminology with "SPS" and not the Scottish Prison Service or the Strategic Planning Society? :o

Maybe when I have a few more posts I'll be able to build a better reputation for knowledge.

@Driver8, I think pseudo medical would be more appropriate.

He's probably the most knowledgable person I have come across on the Internet when it comes to knowing anything about watches.

About SPS since I don't know what that is I guess I'm not a sufferer :cheer:

Seriously?

Let me refresh. You think that Breitling is using standard ETA-movements in their watches. Which is okay.

I don't find it offensive when people start complaining or thinking about brands I personally like. I would buy shit in a paperbag if Apple would brand and sell it. I'd say the same thing also would apply to Breitling.

But fact of the matter is that Roff and other members that have pretty decent knowledge have made it perfectly clear that Breitling doesn't use standard ETA, don't even know if ETA knows what their movements look like anymore, so to state that you were taking a serious note about the knowledge here could be interpreted as offensive.

Just letting you know. :lingsrock:

No one's going to ban you (although I did edit your last post for language), but I think that you could have seen the reaction coming - you posted some pretty wild and unsupported accusations, which I refuted and whilst you may not know my reputation from the six months that you have been registered a quick glance to the left of the post would show that I am a moderator with a few posts behind me.

You then challenged me to substantiate a rebuttal of your unsubstantiated claim, and then came back later to insult another member with the SPS comment. Finally you came back again with a snide comment back to me.

If you couldn't have foreseen the response coming then perhaps you are suffering from myopia - and unlike your medical suggestion, that's a condition not an insult.

Hopefully you will continue to enjoy and contribute to the forum, but perhaps with a little more thought before posting. :lingsrock:

No, your totally right. I don't know what got into me last night and this morning, I was having a bad day (work issues) but that's no excuse to bash a company that I really do like and insult members on a forum. Especially when I'm so new. Let me apologize GREATLY for what I have said, while I can't take back what I said, I can move forward and maybe gain trust as a decent member. I had no proof of what I said ether, just hear say really. Anyway I hope you can forgive me.

Again I'm really sorry. It won't happen again. I will use my head

There are some pretty knowledgeable people here, some of which have contacts with Breitling insiders, so dont be surprised if some of the info that you get is stuff that might not be readily available with a simple google search.
