Quick question... I am looking to buy (another) an iPad for my work so I can add video clips (via digital camera) for presentations when visiting customers... My question is... How or is it possible to do this?

Does anyone do this for work?

You will need to store your video clips on your PC and import them to your iTunes library.
Once you synch your iPad with your iTunes the video clips will be copied to your iPad.

For the easiest possible way to sync them export your videos in mp4-format then it's an easy access. If you don't want to use special software on your iPad to play the videos.

I find itunes a bit tedious for this and use Dropbox.

format conversion tool I use is handbrake, but there are tons of others: http://handbrake.fr/details.php

just make sure to store videos on your PC (assuming Windows?) in
your Dropbox directory (or work-video-related subdirectory) and
you are done - better mark them as favorites on the iPad so they
will store locally.

I use the Apple Digital Camera Connection. It accepts USB and SD cards.

Does the "Apple Digital Camera Connection' app run on a bog standard IPad or is it "jail break" ?
Mine is the "New iPad" so I would not want to jeopardize the warranty by jail breaking it, yet.
However, as my signature says....

it is an Apple OEM product, so no jailbreak. but why would u want to write data to an SD
on your PC, unplug it, transfer it to your Ipad etc. unstead of just dumping it in a
directory on your PC and have it automatically accessible in all your iDevices, Androids, PCs
and vice versa ?

A reminder though, the Camera Connection Kit requires video to have been recorded in a format supported by the iPad.

Apple Inc wrote:
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format

Fred,

It works quite well when the camera writes to a SD card, then you just pop it into an ipad ... and voila!

Greenhall,

A very important point and worth mentioning.

I should have explained that this is really a great use for still photos or videos that have been captured by an iPhone or in an
Apple friendly format either right from SD or a digital camera with a usb connection.

On a side note, I have even used the USB portion of the camera connection kit with a USB keyboard (one of the rollup rubber ones) You get an error when you first plug it in, but it works just fine, every single key... Same for a thumb drive with pictures and videos loaded on it..
