Congratulations. Nice looking watch - they did a great job with the case back.

I am rather angry with Omega at the moment:

1. They opend a Boutique about 100 meters from my main store.

2. I received only 5 of these Bondwatches (and won't receive any more!), despite having 3 stores and having ordered 30 pieces. Considering a limitation of 10007 watches, that pisses me off! Oh, I forgot, I got them 2 month after the boutique!

3. One of my employees succeded in agreeing with a very good customer, that he will buy a platinum speedmaster with a skeleton dial (retail about 38.000 Euros!). He talked with our agent (doughter company of Swatchgroup) at least 4 times until he finally ordered the watch. Two days ago, we received a phonecall, that we won't get the watch, as it is "Boutique only".

If Omega wasn't my second best selling brand (behind Breitling) I would get rid of them.

So where are these Bonds going???
At 11,007 pieces it is far from being a limited edition.
If I managed to secure all the Breitling Limited Editions that I wanted which were released at 1000 to 2000 pieces it should be a walk in the park for anyone who wants one of these Bond "unLimited" to find one with ease.
As I said in my earlier post, I have seen at least 5 of them in the Boutiqes windows in Hong Kong over the weekend and that was just in one shopping/business district only.
Is it perhaps Omega's strategy to release them slowly to keep the potential buyers in belief that they are so sought after and hard to get?

It's no slow release. I will get a total of 5 all together, not 5 now, 5 in a month and 5 in two month.

Just remember, Omega has about 300 Boutiques worldwide. Each of them will receive at least 20 pcs. That will be more than half of the limited series...

Omega really do seem to be taking a very confontational attitude with their retailers recently. I guess that they now feel that they have enough boutique coverage that they can bully the retailers in most markets, but that's a very dangerous strategy.

Congratulations, Joe. Thanks for the excellent pics. The box itself is really a work of art.
I must say it is a stunning watch! I was very impressed when I first saw it, and almost got the 36mm model. That one is actually designated on the Omega website as a Ladies' model. Not because of the size, but because of the diamond at 7 o'clock, instead of the usual marker.
I realize there are a lot of naysayers about the James Bond editions, but I still like them. This is probably the nicest one yet. It really has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. Sometimes the engraved "007"s on the dial are hardly visible, depending upon the light. The caseback is truly amazing as well.
Cheers,
Carl

Thank you very much. I agree with you lots of people say its another bond watch but this is the best yet and It will take a lot to beat it if they bring another out also this is the big 50 watch a mile stone in the bond films. Thank you very much for you're nice comment :D

The SMP underwent a makeover last year, and most of the improvements you have listed are now standard on all current SMP models. As far as I know, the case size has remained unchanged on the large size; it's still 41mm. The differences between the standard SMP 41 and the Bond model are the logo pattern on the dial (the dial is otherwise identical), the red 50 on the bezel, the caseback, and the packaging. Still, it's a great looking watch, and I'm repeating myself when I say that the current (standard) SMP is the best this model has ever been; I'd easily choose it over the current PO.

That case back is sweet... Ranks up there with the B-1 case back IMO. Beautiful.

Ohh, I don't know. I like my James Bond 50th Seamaster very much BUT that PO 8500
with the orange bezel looks so yummy ;-)

Different strokes for different folks. I've just always been an admirer of the SMP, and am not all that fond of the direction Omega has gone with the current PO models. I thought the original Liquidmetal PO was a masterpiece. I even thought, "If only they would do that with the SMP...." Technically, they haven't, since the SMP doesn't feature Liquidmetal, but with the incorporation of a glossy ceramic bezel and lacquered dial, it has come pretty close. Thumbs up to Omega for that!

The new blue SMP is really, really nice. There's a depth and richness to the new dial over the old wave pattern dial and of course, the ceramic and the blue lume. (Still don't like the bracelet as much as a Speedy though) Tried one on in Vegas, along with the 45mm liquidmetal and I don't think I could justify the big one for the cost difference. In black I might prefer the PO, and that new PO chrono is a beautiful piece.

The SMP, PO, or Aqua Terra are as good an "only watch" option as there is right now, for the still-high price. Classic three-hand, nice dimensions, versatile as can be, to me anyway a clear cut above a Tag and harder than ever to justify the price bump to a Sub.

Nicest Bond I've seen. I don't think I could do a '007" dial but it is well done. Congrats.

I agree, the PO 8500 is a beautiful watch that offers very good value. I tried one on last week and was very impressed. If I hadn't already made up my mind to buy the Zenith that day, I might have come home with the PO. The dial is gorgeous.

That is a really cool looking watch. I'm not generall a fan of that particular seamaster model but that is the exception.

Interesting info on Omega also.
