Hello everyone! I have a question...7am Tee Time in the morning and was wondering if it would be wise to play with my ling on. It goes without saying that the added 1/2lb weight of my SA will somewhat affect my swing but will the impact of the clubs on the balls have an adverse effect on the movement?

It would be wise if you would like to potentially damage your movement. I would suggest putting it in a travel case, and leave it in your locker or golf bag until you finish your round.

some people golf with them others dont. the force of your swing is not good for your watch. i highly doubt it would affect your swing unless you play like Tiger.

It would be wise indeed...it's staying home!

I wish! Second year golfing, been hitting in the 90s...on a good day might break into the 80s, a VERY good day! Wishful thinking that the extra weight would affect my swing

for your second year golfing to hit 90's is a great score. the average golfer ususally doesnt break 100, so hitting 80's on a good day is impressive.

enjoy your round and leave the watch at home. its funny most the purpose of a watch is to tell time, but the enjoyment of a good round should not be timed.

True enough! The Ling on the wrist makes me feel better, when I feel better I play better, but you guys are right and it needs to stay home. It's supposed to be a great day tomorrow so that in itself should make for a great game. As for the scores, had a very good coach and the guys I play with are always great with providing input as my game progresses.

I'm far from a movement expert, but I'm a single digit handicapper, and I'd recommend against playing with the ling on. It's just too heavy.

I used to play with my air king on (small, very light, no discernible rotor movement) but eventually stopped doing even that. The game is hard enough without an extra weight on your wrist.

By the way, I keep a Breitling service case (nylon with zipper) in my golf bag to store whatever watch I'm wearing while I play. Avoids having to leave it in the car or a locker.

I once played with a Tag on, and Humpty Dumpty was'ent the only thing my watch repair guy couldent put back together again. I'm a 7 handy caper and when I played with it on was some 30 years ago when I could hit a 5 wood 325 yards , I wish I had that stroke today !

My CA, my daily wearer, sees action weekly if not more. Still ticking and keeping great time. Love the ruggedness of that watch and my other Bs

buddy i wish i could hit my driver 325. i think on a great day 280 down the pipe is the best i could get.

I play with people that have been playing for 10-20 years and cheat their ass off to break 90.

As for the watch...I used to wear one every time, but it got annoying so I stopped. Never had a problem. There has been a time since that ive forgotten to take it off and found myself with a watch on...again, no problem. Anecdotal, but it is what it is.

There have been a number of golf and watch discussions over the years here. It's not recommended, and while it will be fine in most cases the forces involved are certainly capable of damaging the watch.
