A member's question about a 1983 birth year watch made me look at the 1985 catalog on this site again,
something I rarely do because I thought I would find nothing of interest to me there.

http://www.breitlingsource.com/books_1985.shtml

Page 4 shows a watch I assumed did not exist, neither did I ever see it (far from relevant), nor has Jean Michel documented it on his site (quite relevant); I have no idea how a caseback would look, but in the catalog there is a 18k or GP "Old Navitimer", described as a "Replica of this collector's piece" that clearly shows the Twin-Plane dial, something I had thought - and claimed - only reappeared w/ the Tribute watch in 2002 ?

Always thought the traditional Navitimers reappeared only in 86 w/ the 81600 Lemania versions ?
egg in my face. again. does any of you know more about these & what model numbers they had,
were they Venus 178 or Valjoux 7736 ?

I had already noticed such illustration of a twinplane Navi replica in the early catalogs of the Schneider era , but I never heard about any real watch .
If one of a kind had been produced, we would have seen it on the Sage's site, wouldn't we? :nana:
More seriously, it would be interesting to question Breitling on that.

Yeah I can't say that I have ever seen the real watch either and I do wonder how many were actually produced. This should be an easy question for Breitling to answer as it is a Schneider era piece.
