well, to each his own .....

if you are tired with that black calf, honey croc, chocolate croc, brown calf, the bracelet - so many options that do look great - mint green Nato is not among them for me.

Love the watch...... but Natos only work with a few watches IMO, and I'm not convinced the Cossie is one of them.

JMO of course...... which generally counts for very little!

What you think matters most. If you like it, keep it.

Well..... with all due to respect to my esteemed colleagues, I personally agree with you. :) Black leather (OEM calf that is...) is arguably the best and most iconic look for the Cossie IMHO but unusual other straps can be interesting and in fact, fun to try on the old girl. Heck, your Nato probably best replicates the actual strap Cdr. Carpenter wore over the sleeve of his spacesuit during Aurora 7. 8)

Here's a tidbit for you... Somewhere around 1968 the first 24hr watch I ever saw was a Breitling Cosmonaute on the wrist of a 219 Aviation Company Birddog pilot in VietNam. At the time I was wearing a Seiko "Bellmatic", a 17 jewel mechanical with an alarm which was the reason I bought it ($50 USD, Hong Kong). At the time, the alarm was an amazing novelty feature to me and would prove to be useful quite often. (I think I still have that watch somewhere out in the barn.) The Army pilot's Cossie stuck in my mind somehow and some 35 years later I acquired one. Of course his was likely an 809 and mine is a Lemania like yours but close enough for government work anyway. Point is, IIRC, his Cossie was not on a leather strap or bracelet. Obviously the memory fades after 45 years :? but I seem to remember the strap being something like a Nato strap although it may have been simply a canvas tang/buckle kit. Worked for him, still works today in my view. :)

I've had fun trying different wrist attachment kits on my Breitlings and the Cossie is no exception. Wifey opines I'm "cheapening" the appearance or making it look like a "kid's watch" but heck, we're all kids at heart, aren't we?' Enjoy your beautiful timepiece however you like it kitted and wear it in good health! :lingsrock:
Best,
Ron

Thanks for the feedback guys – Brutally honest as always! I’ve decided the Nato strap is a keeper.

Great looking Cosmo Ron

I like really like NATOs but as driver said for some reason it doesn't really suit the watch. But hey... It's your watch.

And remember what happened to his! It went for a swim on his return to Earth and died. The watch gods were angry! :P
