Personally I love Blancpain's wooden boxes. Great marquetry work on them, plus they are also designed to be able to be used as a cigar humidor or jewellery box, so giving the box a new lease of life instead of just being shoved away in a cupboard.

In terms of Breitling's offerings, my favourite is the Bentley box designed for the solid gold models. I bought one for my old Bentley Le Mans and then bought another just because I like it! For those who haven't seen them, they're the same size and shape as the usual Bakelite boxes, but made of solid walnut, with brown suede leather lining, and the interior "travel case" is made of green leather - none of the cheaper fake "PU leather" on these babies!

Blancpain are very nice, no doubt. My Franc Vila came in a box that is actually a Swiss Kubik winder with the glass cover printed with a design in the shape of the watch dial which was unique and functional.

Do you guys all really use the watch boxes after you take the watch out the first time? I haven't on any watch... ever... They either go in the in the winder, or into a "multi watch box"

I don't, but for the sake of conversation I was curious for other people's opinions because some companies go to great lengths to present their watches in beautiful boxes.

Gotcha, I understand the point of the post, I have just been wondering if people use the boxes for a while, and it seemed like a great time to ask!

Most of my boxes are filling ugly empty spaces in closets or the basement. Franc Vila / Swiss Kubik winder is in use and my Zenith box and papers are in my office for convenient access when it next goes in for repair

 I recognise the same fatalistic approach that I take with my Big Lemon (I mean, Big Pilot)!

Maybe I'm biased, because I want one, but I always really like Dornblueth and Sohn's boxes. I could almost see putting the watch in the box and using it as a desk clock (albiet small).

Though I don't have one, I'd have to go with the Tissot T-Race LE helmet case, probably cheap plastic, but mighty cool looking ;)

Just last week I set out the two boxes I have on a bookshelf just to look at them from time to time. (The Headwind came in a service package, so no fun there). Reminded me I have fewer nice watches than before, kind of a bummer. Still nice to see them, though.

Maybe I'm a little bias because I love cars as well.., and MAYBE someone on this forum has the means to afford one but so far the best watch case I've ever seen is from Parmigiani Fleurier.... It's a Bugatti 16C Galibier.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45_AWugVj4E seen at 1:42 - 1:45 and better shot at 3:04...
