I actually like the updated date wheel. The new 3777 has it too, which speaking of is more in line for my budget.

I like the new date window too. TZ is full of people moaning about it, but I think it suits the watches well.

Sergio, that modified BP strap is going to look awesome. Sounds like the best possible outcome there.

The TZ IWC board is full of haters. They b!tched about the IWC SIHH booth which was incredible, they complained about the extravagent IWC Boutique opening in NYC which looked awesome with Adriana Lima, and now they complain about the date window. Bunch of idiots.

I can't wait to see the BP strap on there. I wish it had white stitching but I'll survive, it should look good.

They sound like a bunch of ingrates. They should try being Breitling fans for a while. Then they'd know what it means to have something to complain about.

The Big Pilot strap came in, the strap maker who I bought it from shaved each edge 0.5mm then painted the side black so you can't tell it was modified. I think it looks awesome, this is how the watch should come directly from IWC, along with the sweet brown croc. Both are great options but this is a pilot watch and it deserves to be on a pilot strap.

(I wish more of the big names would do more in brushed steel.) Lovely.

IWC does a great job on their finishing. You can see on the edge of the lugs and case there is a small portion that is polished which breaks up the brushed surfaces nicely. Great attention to detail.

The new strap looks great! I also like the date wheel, but I am into that pilot instrument look :) .

Who knows Sergio, you may have to think about flight lessons with that new piece  .

Nice photos! Your strap maker did a great job on the mod - probably not another 3878 in the world with that strap. As for the date wheel, love it. Looks cool and I like the extra bit of color the pointer brings to the dial.

Speaking of the dial, it doesn't look nearly as good on the IWC website as other photos I've seen. They show it too light. It didn't grab me until I saw non-IWC photos. It's a fantastic dial.

Thanks!

You're right, IWC did a terrible job capturing the beauty of the ardoise dial in their promotional shots.
