well, Scott, I do love Breitlings and quite like the SOH 42, but that JLC plays in quite a different league, for me the the best executed "tribute" piece ever, especially the Europe dial.

tempted myself.

A further enticement ...

Not a 42 but rather a SOH46. Simple but beautiful! Never get tired of this watch. Mesh is super comfortable and then you get get a black leather or a rubber strap to dress it down a bit. But I always go back to the mesh for longer term wearing.

Good luck in convincing the powers to be. Maybe a Robeto Coin mesh bracelet with diamonds for her? What the heck its only money (at least thats what I say, but she is catching on real quick)

JLC Deepsea Tribute: which is the Europe dial? I like the one that has smaller tick marks and the JLC name arced just under the 12 marker. It's a beautiful watch but out of the question at the moment.

As for the suggestions that I console my wife with jewelry or other goodies, unfortunately she doesn't see spending money as a way to atone for spending money. How screwed up is that?

Thanks Fred. So it is the Europe dial I prefer. A more retro look I think. I assume you'll post a side-by-side photo after you pull the trigger.

IMHBO the SOH looks much nicer than the JLC mentioned.
