Hello all, I have a couple of questions about this Cape Cod product I keep hearing about.

1) How do you use it, just like any other polish?
2) Can you use it too much(cause any damage)?
3) Where to get it?

1) Yes place it on a flat surface rub the part of your watch you want polishing and then rub really quick on a clean cloth, Hey presto most marks are gone.
2) Yes but you would have to rub really hard and for a long time and providing you do a bit at a time its not likley.
3) Ebay is best

its a cloth impregnated with metal polish. Stick to the polished surfaces and youll do no damage. Stay away from brushed areas and the crystal. I dont know if youve got Ace Hardware in Chicago, but I found them there for like $5. Otherwise you can find them online.

I recently received mine in the mail. Got it off ebay for 3.99 shipped. It works great. My deployment clasp was all heavily scratched up on the outer surface. After using Cape Cod, it looks brand new and smooth.

For what it's worth the Sunshine Cloth available on eBay is soooooo much better than the Cape Cods which are really messy. Takes a hell of a lot less rubbing to get the same if not better results. There was a detailed thread here not too long ago and I also personally have used both and hands down better.

I use both... I like the cape cods for a 'service polish'and the sunshine for between polishes.. Your right the sunshines are a lot less messy ase more user friendly...

i recall reading, perhaps incorrectly, that the polishing should go one way and in a straight line(vs circular motion).

can someone with experience offer some advice please? any other tip before i try this at home?

That's brushed finishes.

Remember to clean your watch before using the cape cod....I still do this and the rag is dirty after.

That's not dirt, that is polished off metal.
Hence I'd go easy with it on gold plated parts, especially the crowns, screws, tabs, pushers, etc on the two tone models.

I'm pretty sure Ive read before that you should make sure Cape Cod (aka Duraglit to us UK folks) is kept clear of the glass as it will remove the anti-reflective coating!

This has all been discussed multiple times before, but.....

Cape Cod is supposed to get 'dirty', and it's still perfectly usable.

Cape Cod will remove the AR coating.
