So after receiving my chronomat 41, it was dead on at +- .5 seconds /day. Now it's running about +10 seconds/day. I'm thinking it may have become slightly magnetized as I wore it at work and forgot to take it off for a few minutes. Could this be it or is it just a break in thing? I am getting a demagnetizer to see if that will correct it?

I don't think it should be that off since it's COSC specs...

Impossible to know whether it's settling in without knowing how old it is.

It may be magnetised, but that is a very, very small gain for that problem. If it remains consistent at that rate then it's probably just in need of a regulation.

It's brand new. I figure demagnetizing it is easy to do. I don't *mind* +10 sec/day but I figured it should stay where it was at when I got it. First two weeks were dead on.

Well if it's only two weeks old then it's certainly still settling, and I don't think I would be throwing a demagnetiser at it yet (and it's not always as simple as "just pass it through and it's done" as some would have you believe).

Just wear it for a few weeks and then time it again.

Also make sure that its fully wound.
