I can see why you didn't buy it from George...how many does he think he is going to sell @ straight list?? I get that IWC has become a more popular brand lately...but it ain't that popular!

Is it George's choice, or IWC's insistence? (In Shark's thread about Breitling's crackdown on discounting, he also mentioned IWC has been cracking down, too.)

So long as that "f###ing toady turd Sharkman" is around, I don't think we will be seeing him. Besides, he is too busy pleading for donations through his youtube channel because "[insert name here] is going through tough times."

Don't most brands insist on minimal discounting? ADs say they are getting less inventory so they want to get maximum dollar for each piece because they dont know when they'll see another piece. Makes sense, but I don't buy from those types of ADs and that's why Georgebergs doesn't get any of my business. At Zero discount they can sell to some other sucker, I'm sure someone will buy it with little or no discount because it's a new piece.

They sold 3 of the new pilots yesterday as soon as they got them.



The discounts on IWC aren't the same anymore since stock levels have one down at ADs. They've just started shipping to ADs again.

An ever changing collection.....

Any time new models hit ADs they sell in the first couple days, that's not news. Most people will leave a deposit in advance to be the first on the block to buy the new model, many people did this a few months ago for the new Explorer 2. Selling a few watches at zero discount on the first day they are available in the US isn't anything to write home about, in fact I'm surprised more weren't sold.

Don, not only does Jimmy like IWC, Jimmy likes discounts, Jimmy doesn't buy from people who don't give discounts, Jimmy doesn't like that

Well there's an idiot born everyday...apparently there were 3 born yesterday.

I never said he would sell zero, but the fact remains that he will not sell as many as he would if he offered a reasonable discount...and Sergio is proof of that. The watch is nice, but it isn't $11K nice.

If they have the ability to sell them at full retail, or close to full retail, there is no need to discount them. They will sell more IWCs than most ADs will even get.

It's business, trying to get maximum dollar for your product is smart, I get that. However, I prefer to deal with AD's who are willing to give me the best price which is the reason that only 1 of my 70+ purchases have gone to Georgebergs. No skin off my back, the hunt for the best price is actually fun and meeting new ADs is also fun. I've met a bunch of great ADs over the past few years who have earned multiple purchases and referrals from me and will continue to do so.
