Ah yes - a beauty!

Don't you just love that big date?

Enjoy

That is one of the best features of the Blackbird. I love how they made the background on the date black, instead of the usual white. It just makes the Blackbird more unique.
I agree, the polished look suits it real well. I thought that you had got the polished option, though. You even did the bracelet? It looks great, especially with the faceted links, another unique feature of the Blackbird.
I still have in the back of my mind, that one day I will sell my Blacksteel and Steelfish, and go for a Blackbird.
Congratulations, and enjoy!
Cheers,
Carl

Yea its more of a beast since I polished it myself.
Cost me nothing as I have all of the equipment, only took an hour or so.
It was worth it.

 Wow, that's a great job you did there. I thought it was the new 2008 polished version. It's looks beautiful.

I do a lot of stainless steel finishing on motorcycles, so its just the same but a little bit smaller whith a steady hand using a dremmel with the flexable attatchment. I used the smallest felt polishing wheel, (8mm dia) with a mild abraisive cream. then using a pointed felt wheel to get into the corners. Finally by hand with the cream on a soft cloth. A soft toothbrush and soapy water to remove the black residue.
If you want to go back to brushed or renovate your brushed look use a small fiberglass pen and brush in the same direction of the original finish.
The pens can be obtained from RS components. A more cost effective solution to the jewlers.

Good info there - thanks for sharing.

I'm amazed it only took you an hour. I asked in a Breitling repairer/AD about having a Steelfish bracelet polished up and was quoted about a days work!
