Hi guys
Mr Fedex arrived this morning with a HUGE box from the USA.
Inside was my mint condition E56321 black dial on a pro 1 bracelet.
My question is that the watch is stamped on the case and bracelet as being made in 2004. However, according to the website the E56321 was made between 1995 and 2001?!
Anyone able to help....?
Cheers

56 was replaced with 76 in 2002, are you sure that it's not a 76321?

I wouldn't take much notice of the bracelet, that could have been added later, but it shouldn't be possible to have a 2004 watch with a non SQ movement. What's the actual lug code?

That's very wierd. It's early 2004 (March) but still way too late for a 56.

That's what I thought.
It's a cracking watch and came with cosc certificate and the suitcase with video, instruction book, screw driver and tester. I'm 100% sure it's real but was confused by the date of manufacture - like you said it should have the later model number....
I've emailed breitling uk and they are checking the service history for me.

They probably had some spare 56s and put them inside newer cases.

That's an interesting position to take though don't you think? I know that the later 56s were still COSC, but they weren't SQ so can hardly sell them as a comparable product at the same price - although they probably did.

BUK have confirmed that the watch was serviced in 2010 (it's first one) and are looking into why the case is dated 2004. They are in contact with BUSA but think the case may have been changed at some point.....

Sure is.
Other thing is as BUSA told the OP, that case may have been changed.

Problem solved....
BUK have make contact with BHQ who have confirmed that the E56321 was produced up to and including 2004!
Looks like the website will have to be updated.

I would like to learn more about that.

That implies that 56s and 76s were produced in parallel :huh

According to Handbooks 2002, 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 Orbiter 3 was marked E56321, others were E76321.
In 2005/2006 all were marked 76... and no Orbiter in the lineup.

I guess that makes sense given that the Orbiter was marketed as a unique variation on the piece - I would be less than happy if I bought a regular model and basically had a crapshoot of getting SQ or not.

I also have the orbiter 3 which was purchased in 2003. However the markings suggest that it was made in 1999. I'm keeping the black/grey face and selling the orbiter if anyone is interested.
