I dropped by an AD in the heart of Beijing this afternoon to get them to adjust the bracelet on one of my "Holy Trinity" pieces (more on this on the weekend when I get back to Taipei).
To my big surprise they would not do it. Just to test them I made it look like I wanted to buy one of the watches and asked if they would adjust the bracelet for me. Nope, all they could do was to refer me to Breitling Service Centre.

Anyway, my big surprise was to see some brand new cool LEs on the display including the Navi 125th Anniversary, Navi 1461 2011 and even the Chronomat B01 LE.
Obviously, with such poor service no one shops there.

Did you ask them to do it for free? Or they didn't want to do it even if you paid?

He asked them if they'd fit a bracelet on a brand new watch as well so I don't think he was looking for a charitable fitting.

Anyway it's a real type example of bad service.

the very first think i did was change my bracelet on my first Navi for a Croc deployment, then change it back :lingsrock: then buy some more straps and have 5 watche's in one :D, straps are my weekness i am not going near the 24mm Croc deployment on sale here, the wife would hang me.

but learning to change straps can be expensive 8)

:yeahthat

I know that feeling! Ive just had a mad strap purchasing spree.

In the last week I got a brown and a blue croc (OEM for deployant) a blue sharkskin, a hornback alligator (buckle) and a deployant python skin strap (looks the business)

The plan is to put the brown croc onto the Evo, the blue shark onto the emergency, and the python onto the Navi. The hornback will probably alternate between the Evo and the Navi.

Thinking about it, what I've just spent on straps I could of bought a new ling :wowzers

Just need time to play around with the combos. Pics to follow at somepoint :D

I also know the feeling!

That's why none of the five Breitling I've owned so far were bought in mainland China: first, ridiculously high list price due to import tariffs and most importantly, sub standard customer service!

Is this the norm in Mainland China?
I'll be relocating to Beijing in July once the kids finish school for this year.
With this level of service, my wallet is safe :D

That's not normal. Most breitling ADs in China should do that for free. And Breilting have a service center in Shanghai. Nice ppl and good service. But don't buy watches in mainland unless you don't care about price. Mainland china charges very high import tax (should be 30% or more) on luxury goods, including watches. And the ADs offer less discount too.

Relocate to Beijing! Wow. Hope you will like Beijing. I wish I had the chance to relocate back.

Given the high list prices and lack of product knowledge by most sales people, your wallet would be safe.

To stray a little bit from topic, the Mongolian girls plying their trade at the English pub of Beijing Lido Hotel are pretty hot. :superman:
