There is hope. I bought my first real watch three weeks ago. Yesterday I came close to acquiring another, even more expensive one, second hand. But I managed to walk away. (As much as I want to congratulate myself, the only reason I didn't pull the trigger was that I couldn't get comfortable with the idea of sending an $8000 wire transfer -- I'd rather deal locally.)
