Hard to tell from those pics. The details is where best to look and those pics hide the tell tale signs.

You need to ask for close up pics with today's date and his user name ETC.

Don't forget if its sounds to good to true.... you know the rest.

There is some very good SOII fakes out there.... See link for details.

Would never buy an SOII without box and papers, the fakes really are too good to be sure.

EDIT: Seller removed this one after I emailed him.

Yeap, definite fake. Even the serial number is from the known range used by the fake, 1342xxx

This watch is at a store close to my house but it's being sold on ebay as a "display model" I like it because it comes with the deployment clasp. Is this one a real one?

:yeahthat Absolutely. Never buy that model without papers, and especially on the back of blurry, out of focus pictures like that!

Fake as well. Note the radiusing of the bezel numerals and the hour lumes are blobby (This feature is VERY easy to spot on this version with the yellow chapter ring, a bit harder to spot on the black version).

I've spoken to the seller and if he lives up to his Ebay name he'll pull it.

As to the watch in the OP, I'm a little bit suspicious of the quality of the pics as the Colt ladies watch he sold a few weeks ago had fairly clear pics! (If only he'd kept the Leica he sold a few years ago!)

:yeahthat

As breanach78 said, read the Watchfinder article where it's virtually impossible to tell the difference even with macro pics.

I wouldn't consider buying without papers, if only because future buyers will also be looking for papers if/when you decide to sell it.

Thanks for all the info a few people on ebay would of had me fooled. They even offer 2 year warranty which probably just means they send you a new fake watch. lol

I spoke to the seller of the second watch you posted and he won't accept this one is fake. I think is just self denial rather than a deliberate attempt to deceive.
