well, as I had my watches in-house yesterday for a small SOTC
on another forum, I did grab a pic of my JLCs, concentrating
on "dress watches", Memovox and Futurematics here.
though a decent vintage Deep Sea would be very tempting ....

but first a decent shot of that pretty 3-hand,
yesterdays low light iPic did not do it justice.

and the family shot:

Well Fred what can I say.
You've mesmerized us again.
Btw, some of the watches look similar. For example #1, #3 & #5 on the top row.
Are they the same?

I have admired your vintage Breitling collection but wow! I'm shocked I don't see more of these on your wrist, maybe you just don't post them here. They all look pristine and fantastic.

well, so here I go and hijack a thread, something I normally frown upon (sorry cruvon).

but it IS in the Gallery section, so actually not off topic.

yes. this is why I admit to being an addict.

these are my beloved Futurematics, beautiful pieces and technological wonders.

so much has been written about them, that there is little (nothing) to add, quite well researched.

to quote an article on PuristsPro:
"The Future Matic plays in another league, a league apart.
While the others plays the card of the Chronometry, the History, The Future Matic also plays the card of the Originality..."

The "missing crown" is just one of the technological escapades, the watch never winds down completely
when not worn, but leaves a power reserve of about 6 hours, so when you pick it up it just ticks away.

Rumors are that JLC never made money on these, they were so complicated and labor intensive in manufacture
that apparently they almost drove JLC into bankruptcy, long before the Quartz revolution.

So when I see an affordable, nice piece, it is hard to resist, but they are keeping their value quite well.

for anybody interested:

Scott, I do love my vintage Breitlings and, as this is a Breitling forum, mostly post pics of these, though my collection also includes Gallet, Vulcain Crickets, some Zenith and some nice Chronographe Suisse pieces, just do not want to flood the forum with pics of these. As the collection is quite, well, addicted, there are too many watches to wear all frequently, the JLCs are mostly getting wrist time as "evening watches".

Ok, so some wrist shots and some family pics below, maybe you'll enjoy those.

edit: went a little overboard w/ pic sizes, so moving "family shots" to a new post w/
more reasonable sizes and some additions.

here they are : viewtopic.php?f=5&t=39003&p=287174#p286603
