I wish the Ivory cam with the gold roman numerals... that would make this decision much easier for me. :guns:

Justin, that's a gorgeous one. Diamonds as hour markers is about the only way I like them on a man's watch. I also like the fact the hands don't have lume, since the lume strips on the other DJII hands are so skinny, especially relative to the batons, which are pretty massive. In all, that may be the nicest DJ I've yet seen. What's the price?

As far as the original two choices go, I'm partial to the black. I generally prefer black dials to ivory, plus again, no skinny lume strips on the hands.

The rhodium diamond dial retails for somewhere in the ballpark of $10,600. The standard Datejust 2 with the white gold bezel retails for $8,600 so you're paying an extra $2K for the diamonds. I still like the rhodium with blue arabics since I can't justify the diamonds, but given the choice of diamonds or two tone, I'd go with the diamonds.

All in all, that price isn't as bad as I thought, considering the new Yachtmaster will likely go for more than that without the diamonds. I think I have a new watch to put on my lust list.

I think the ivory looks better on you. It seems classier whereas the black seems gaudy. That opinion is based purely on your photos. Who knows how I'd feel if I saw them in person.

Ivory for me, no question at all. I like black dials on Breitling TT watches, but that Rolie looks infinitely better in ivory IMO.

You guys are not helping me much... this is 50/50 here.

I honestly think the black with the gold is an eye catcher and is simply beautiful. On the other hand the is no lume(right?). Now the Ivory is more practical, so I can dress it up or down, whereas the Black dial is more of a dressy/classic watch IMO.

Am I hitting th enail on the head on this one? Please let me know if you are thinking something different. I honestly think I will be ordering this bad boy today!

I doubt that very much, you will change your mind at least a dozen more times before then. Not a fan of TT at all. If I was forced to go TT then there is no doubt that I would go with the Slate Dial DJII with green romans.

I think you've answered your own dilemma there. Black is clearly where you're heart lies; if you bought the ivory you'd always cast furtive glances back at the catalogue, wondering what might have been...

Ivory, the black looks like old man on a cruise waiting for crab legs and getting out of line because his prostate is giving him problems...based totally on your pictures. I know they can be a lot different in person. Go with your gut. Nice problem to have.
