Who cares what other people think. If you like it and can afford it get it. The whole watch is to big for you stuff just seems silly to me. Watches are not pants. I think the watch looks great on you. Small watches look girly to me.

There you go again playing the dick-head card. Most, if not all, of the advice on this thread has come from guys who have owned many Lings in the 44-48mm range, including me. Of the 50+ Breitlings I have owned, at least 21 have been in the 44 and up range, including but not limited to 5 Bentleys, Avengers, Blackbirds, Evos, Seawolf, SOH46, SOHCs, and so on.

Perhaps the OP might get some actual value from those who have gone through the process to find what works and what doesn’t as opposed to some fool categorizing experienced owners as a bunch of “old timers who prefer sub 40mm dials and can’t understand the trend toward bigger watches.”

The fact you are going down this road again either indicates you are constitutionally incapable of retaining memory or are just deliberately trying to be an ass.

Déjà vu all over again.

Wow. That's not a sweeping statement. Do we have an irony emoticon?

You need to find a more appropriate outlet for your anger. I'm sorry for whatever you must be going through in your personal life. Good luck.

I think the dial looks appropriate for your style but IMO the lugs hang over your wrist too much. You asked, so I am saying.

I'm 31, and appreciate the trend to bigger watches. I have owned several Ling's in the 44mm range, but the fact the lugs are over on both sides, is too much IMO.

But if you disagree with that opinion by all means buy it. If you want to wear it once in a while, you will probably be happy with it. If you want to wear it all the time.... when you get bored of it fitting poorly, sell it as you will still get a good resale for it. Then buy something that fits.

No friend, that wasn't anger - that was fact. Blunt fact, no doubt. As you have been told by many members here, the issue is always the crazy stuff you say. Your assumptions, as per usual, are devoid of factual foundation and seem intentionally inflammatory. We have had this precise conversation on the precise issue before. If you don't know the history of the members here, keep your speculation to yourself. It will help you from repeatedly looking the fool to the members who have been around a while and do know the facts.

I'm in my early thirties, am I an old timer? I hate the super avenger, not because it's big, but because it's ugly. I understand the trend of bigger watches and I also understand that they aren't for me. IMO, I hate your posts.

To the OP,I think the Avenger looks great on your wrist but you should buy what you like and not what a bunch of strangers on a watch forum think.

I'll go into the wind on this one and say the SA looks too big on your wrist. Lugs are hanging off the edge. It's obviously your $$$ that you're spending but for mine I'd go with the avenger.

I definitely see what you guys are saying, and to me looking at the pics I would say the same thing. For some reason though in person it looked like a good fit though. I'm not sure if it's the camera angle or what, i've included some pics taken at a distance…

You'll never go wrong with the HOT BIG BLING Super Avenger! No other watch generates more compliments and ATTENTION than this Iconic Breitling Classic.

Far Better Looking than the smaller Avenger (IMO) and MUCH BETTER Resale Value!

By the way, It looks amazing on your wrist .. hip, modern and very masculine! :lingsrock:

The fact that you are trying to justify the SA means your mind is already set on it so just go with it.

And remember that this forum is great for Breitling knowledge and information, but it is filled with many old timers who still prefer the sub 40mm dials and can't understand the trend of bigger watches.

interesting.....im 33 and i have owned a motors t speed, a super avenger, GT ice , corum admirals cup and a subc. of the bunch the sub gets the most wrist time. i wonder if that makes me an old timer??? never gave it much thought but now im curious. like shark said if the lugs go past the width of your wrist it will look too large that what alot of people fail to understand its not the dial size its the size of the whole watch lug to lug. go try on an AP ROO and that thing will make Bentley motors look small.

edit - just wanted to say to the OP that the SA looks fine on your wrist.

Regardless of any previous discussion between Sharkman and pkeung; didn't Basel 2012 show that oversized watch are on their return...? Due to Asian preferences/physycal wrist proportions.....

Anyway the SA in my opinion fits the OP fine; like someone said its important what you like best. Comming to this forum and asking for advice is exactly what it is meant for! People like Sharkman have been down the same road (many times) before. Asking for their advice can possibly keep you from making a regretable decision.

I have a moderate size wrist and got myself a Navi 1461, which according to 'the books' is slightly too big (44 mil, I believe) for my wrist, like the OP's SA. Apart from the look, which is personal, I do not encounter any discomfort or remarks from anything or anybody (if the latter should bother you anyway ;-)) wearing an 'oversized' watch.

I hope this helps you.

Good luck!

@pkeung; why insult experienced members if this forum without any need? They have a wealth of knowledge and experience which they use to help others.

My honest advice?
Ask that lovely lady in the blue top.
Obviously her opinion will carry a lot more weight than any of us here ;-)

All the best with your new purchase and I'm sure you will enjoy it regardless of which one you choose.

I thought the SA looked a little big on your wrist as well. Enjoy whatever you choose!

My comments were meant to point out to the OP that there are many on here who are against bigger watches so he should take their comments with a grain of salt, just like how I only like 46mm+ so personally I would not agree with those who like the 40mm or 42mm watches but that is just a difference in personal style. A person's opinion is just that, but the OP seems so set on the SA that I would hate that he goes for a smaller watch, and later regret it, just because a bunch of people on a website/forum don't like bigger watches. Does it look big on him? Sure it does, but that's his personal style.

Yes there is a wealth of knowledge on here which is what I stated, but some would rather focus on misinterpreting the rest of the comment as negative, which is more a reflection of their negative attitude as that was definitely not my intent when I was posting my comment.
