I've been wanting a TT for a while now and through a slightly bizarre set of circumstances I've end up with two in the space of a fortnight. I've decided that I'll probably end up only wearing one of them and so have decided to get rid of one and put the money towards a Chrono- matic from the 1960s. I know which one like best, but here's the question... which one would YOU flip?

Greg, congrats !
My suggestion - maybe not surprisingly - is different. Both are beauties, the Tonneau TT is in outstanding condition;
and if I recognize the 810 correctly - you got that at an excellent price.

They are both Top Times from a similar period, but here the similarity ends; for me both would be keepers !

The panda face 810 is beautiful...is it a solid gold case, or a GP one?

I wish it were the sold gold, but it's GP.

Do you mind posting more photos of the 810?
Really like the design...a truly classic!
what is the case size?

Thanks!

case is 38mm, were only produced in SS and GP, sadly no 18k version was ever made.
quite the classic, now lives on as the TOC

I agree with Dracha - but only because I think that it would be much happier in Canada :lol:

I'd definitely cut the two register loose first as the three register is more valuable. I'm probably going to list my 810 for sale this weekend and don't need the competition. :wink: Been into dive watches the last few weeks.

From a non-vintage guy (with the exception of my Accutron; maybe I am a little bit);

Don't know if this will make any sense but I'll offer it. The 810 is a classic, looks so close to the TOC that it could pass as a much newer watch. That versatility is a plus. But the square case looks to me more 'vintage', more unique. I'll go against the grain a little and suggest that if you are really liking the vintage look, the square case might be the one to keep. I suppose the other consideration would be access to a replacement someday if you wanted one, since they both look to be in great shape.

I had a square one and sold it... Liked it but apparently not enough... It was TOO vintage for my tastes... I would say keep the round one

So I've decided to keep the 810 (the round one) as i pretty much knew i would. I'd love to keep both but i think they're too similar in style for me to wear both regularly. On top of that, I'm being drawn to the 60s chrono- matics and Datoras. There's just something so funky about them. I think I'll sell the square 2009 and put the money towards something like those pictured below.
