For myself, i could never have just one or two watches. Every watch ive ever bought no matter how long i had to save and how bad i wanted it, after i had gotten it my eyes alway's start looking for the next. Sometimes in a month sometimes in 6 months, but i alway's see one i would like more (Atleast at the time) Sometimes the hunt is more fun than the watch!!!

Like I mentioned in my post about my trip to Govberg, I'm going back and forth on having 3 or 4 watches. I think if you can 3 watches that are different enough, you're set. I'd love to have more, but I don't think I can justify it right now. I'd just rather get enough wear out of those 3 than have 1 or 2 sit in a case all the time.

I don't think that I could ever have a "leader" watch. I love all of my pieces equally, but for different reasons. I have the classic SteelFish which gives me a brushed option while still being very elegant. Then I have my all polished Galactic 41, which seems to be unpopular (I like that characteristic). And, finally, my recently acquired (nib) B-1 SuperQuartz.

I've been thinking about a Rolex here and there, but never really am thrilled to see the crazy prices they demand. It's not the dollar amount, but the fact that they're just so much higher than Breitlings (usually) for sometimes less watch.

With that said, I have nothing against any brand. I simply an all-in with Breitling right now. I'm sure that will change. However, again, I still don't see any leader in my collection. I love them all for the different characteristics and functions they offer. It seems that I get equal comments on all three of them whenever they're worn.

I have around ten or so decent watches with the two "nice" ones in my collection. Other than a gshock, I can't tell you when the last time was that I put on one of my "lesser" watches. Even though I don't wear them often, I don't think I could ever get rid of them. I know I would get pretty bored with just one watch. I feel like a two rotation works very well for me.

Its real easy to get caught up in "quantitiy of quality." I am struggling with it myself at the moment. There are so many watches that i would like to have, but unfortunately i dont have an unlimited budget. I currently have 4 great watches IMHO, but can only wear one at a time. I am planning to sell one and need to decide if i should replace it, or simply bank the money and be happy with 3. I keep going back and forth on this. I hope to continue to add peices over the years, but need to learn to be patient and choose ones I love rather than "ones id like to have"

Well after some time to think and a visit with a forum second-hand dealer on prices to expect for a sourced item and what I could get for my three I have settled (for the moment) on holding pact until I can put together a bit more scratch and unloading the Navi and IWC for the GMT-IIC and keeping the CM24 for casual wear, while maybe adding a couple of straps for variety.

A second-hand GMT in YG/SS is not much more than an Explorer II, but boy in person it felt like another level of watch.

As far as keeping the CM24, there is just more of a bond there than with my other two. If I had to pick I would say that it is my favorite, and downsizing to two would all but force me to finally throw a strap or two on it, which I think will really open up the options.

I am hoping to sell off my Navi and IWC over the next couple months and pull the trigger on the GMT before summer is up. keep your fingers crossed for no unforeseen events fellas

The Chronomatic and a GMT-C would make for an interesting combo. Good luck. I'm hopefully about a week away from closing on my 'consolidation project'.
