I was thinking of sending my Sea Wolfie in for a service.

When I receive my hopefully as new watch, will Breitling also return the old watch parts as part of the service
or do I have to request them to be returned?

Curious to know how many parts they actually replace and how parts are worn etc.
I would like to see what I'm paying for.

Breitling don't send back old parts as a matter of course, and I've never heard of anyone requesting them, so there's no precident that I'm aware of. Give it a try!

I wouldn't be surprised if Breitling wouldn't send them back in case people started to use genuine but used parts in fakes as a way of making them more realistic.....

I have fully overhauled 3 watches this year at at Breitling Authorized Service Centre and on all three occassions when collecting the watch I was shown by the watch maker the replaced parts including the hands, the dial in one instance, the crystal once plus several bits and pieces.
It never occoured to me to ask if I could keep them as I would have zero use for them.

Ive never heard of it being done before, but it brings up an interesting point. Im pretty sure that here in california there is a law that mechanics are required to return old parts to you if requested to do so. I wonder if that would apply to a watch repair.

Another point is that those 'Old' parts are still my property.
I doubt if Breitling have the right not to return these parts if requested?

I was thinking of turning an old crystal into a monocle, very dignified..nyess
