Dssd for me, didn't even spend a second thinking about it.

The GMT is a very nice watch. Although TT would not be my first choice, it doesn't change my opinion about the watch itself. I happen to find its size ideal, but if you're used to something bigger, I can see how you might think the GMT is a bit small. I personally find the DSSD to be too big and chunky, and not well proportioned with its bracelet. That the size is all in the name of a WR rating that is unnecessary for the vast majority of the watch-buying public only makes it less attractive, imo. But as you can see, others really like it. If I were the one buying, though, I wouldn't even have to think about it. A tougher decision would be between the GMT and the Sub.

See the sub vs gmt has became an easy choice for me today because I didn't realize that the sub actually costs more than the gmt! why not get a gmt for less? More bang for the buck! Rigt?! Plus, I love gmt's and it comes in handy with my constant travels to Italy.

That's an easy decision in your situation. For me it's a little trickier. I love the look of the GMT, but since I don't travel much, I don't have much need for a GMT function. Coversely, I find uses for a diver's bezel all the time. The Sub also has the Glidelock clasp, as opposed to the Easy-Link extension on the GMT, which gives the Sub bracelet a greater range of on-the-fly adjustability. Then there's the issue of all brushed versus brushed and polished, and greater WR (Sub) versus a slightly thinner caseback (GMT). I think both are outstanding watches.

the price difference is irrelevant. i think its a few hundred dollars. not to mention the subc has a glide lock clasp. that alone is worth the difference.

It has been a while since I last checked the prices on them, so I was surprised to see the difference is now only $100: $7.9k for the GMT vs. $8k for the Sub (according to Jomashop). Last I remember, the Sub was $8k, whereas the GMT was $7.2k...assuming I'm remembering correctly, which I might not be.

yup its not that bad. i always figured that the GMT should be more expensive since it has the extra complication but i guess the sub is more iconic?

Per George... it is due to the popularity and the advertising of the "SUB".

That was one thing I couldn't quite figure out too... why the SubC cost more than the GMTc... :? I've stated my position on watches with the "fourth hand" as a GMT function is irrevelant for me (don't travel much myself) but now that I have one it still has become "irrevelant" for me... I just set the GMT hand to home time and that's it... :D the independent hour hand adjustment is pretty handy.

I would probably agree just a tad with Sharkman in regards to the gold numbers on the bezel... my black one just kinda blends in with the entire piece but the gold on black bezel makes it pop out even more. But practically speaking the DSSD is one beast of a watch and the GMT fits nicely over cuffs and such.

Painted on with a yellow crayon I believe :poke: Yes they're gold, and the SS version has Platinum numbers.

I've shied away from two-tones in the past year but I'd still take the GMT over the DSSD. My wrists aren't exactly dainty and the DSSD still sat on my wrist like a brick. I much prefer the prior model Sea-Dweller.

DSSD.

It's just cooler despite the skinny bracelet.
