Good evening,

Today I received a Breitling watch. Unfortunately I have no idea what model, year or whatever. On the front it says, 'Breitling Cronomat Automatic'. On the back it is marked, 'Chronograph' and the serial number is A13350.
Any idea??

to be a little more helpful here, a13350 is a model number shared by several variations
of the Chronomat line, not an expert on these, but it seems to be a Chronomat GT
on a Rolleaux bracelet, part of the Windrider series, manufactured between 1997 and 2000.

Fred is correct. The model name is the Chronomat GT and was part of the Chronoliner range (later re-named Windrider). The model reference is A13350 which encompasses all Chronomats including the GT and Vitesse. You may be able to see the serial number just under the model ref although it may have worn away over the years.

The Chronomat GT appeared in the (catalogues) Chronolog 2 (1998), Chronolog 3 (1999) and Chronolog 2000. Price, at launch, was US$3,875.

Hi, Gina. Here is a 2000 vintage Chronomat GT. The reason the middle digit in the model number is a "3" vice the "0" on your watch is because that was the year Breitling started COSC certification of their entire model line. Other than the change to the model number, the watch is identical to yours. I can't tell from the pic if your watch is a black dial but in any event, this one is the slate grey dial with silver subdials.

Great info, thanks. I did find the serial # under the ref #. It's identical to the one Ron posted.
Now all I have to do is learn how to use it. Is it possible to get a users booklet for it? Or find instructions oline anywhere?
I am really pleased with the watch

I suspect that dealers won't have access to manuals for this anymore, but essentially:

1. The crown screws down so to use it turn it towards you as you hold it with the crown on the right. Once unscrewed it will pop out naturally to 'position 1'
2. Position 1 is for winding the watch. 40 turns clockwise / away from you will be a full wind which will keep the watch running for around 42 hours if left on the counter
3. If you pull the crown out one stop to position 2 (the running seconds hand in the subdial at 9 o'clock is still moving) then you can adjust the date - don't remember which direction, but it will only change in one direction. Do not change the date between an indicated time of 8pm and 3am
4. If you pull the crown out again to position 3 (running seconds hand stops) then you can adjust the time - one direction for forward, one for backwards. Again, do not wind time backwards to or through an indicated time of 8pm - 3am. You can wind time forwards at any time.
5. Push and hold the crown back in and turn it clockwise / away from you to screw it down again.
6. The top pusher starts the chronograph / stop watch. Press it once and the central seconds will start and then as time elapses the elapsed minutes at 12 nad elapsed hours at 6 will also move.
7. Press the top pusher again to stop the chronograph
8. Press the bottom pusher when the chronograph is stopped to reset it. The bottom button won't work if the chronograph is running.
9. The watch is automatic so if you are wearing ti regularly then the movement of your wrist will likely be enough to keep it wound.

The watch is fairly old now, so if you don't know it's service history it might be worth getting it serviced by Breitling so that you have 5 - 7 years of worry free use.

Thank you sir, I followed your instructions and all the dials are moving, the date and time is correct, so I guess I'm up and running with my new watch. The fellow that sold me this one says he has another one, a Colt something or other. Maybe I'll go have a look at it

Slate grey dial also? If it is grey Either way, grey or black dial, it is a wonderful timepiece which should give you years of enjoyment. BTW, If you'll "search" the famous auction site every now and then using "Breitling manual" for your keywords you will find quite a few different model Breitling manuals. You'll be looking for the one which reads "Chronomat" on the cover. They do show up every so often so keep looking. Fortunately, Roff gave you all the instructions you actually need for the watch and besides, the manual is somewhat disappointing because there is not much more information available in it anyway. I'll try to find one for you also and let you know if I do. Sorry to tell you I had an extra one which I gave away last year to a fellow who was missing one.

Edit: I just blew your picture up and read the label which indicates the dial is "blue" and that year 2000 blue is very handsome indeed!. BTW, list price of that watch in 2000 on the model 101A "rouleaux" (bullet) bracelet was $3,325 USD. The watch head alone was $2,725, "Rouleaux" bracelets were $600, "Pilot" bracelet was $950, leather strap was $100, croco strap was $300, deployant clasp was $200. Equivalent list prices today are almost or more than double in some cases. I sold that grey GT 2 years ago for around $2700 IIRC which was IMO a great bargain for the buyer.

Oops. My bad. I misread the original post. Gina's model number is identical to mine which of course means Gina's watch is COSC certified and is indeed a 2000 vintage piece. 2000 was the last year of Chronomat "GT" (sunken numeralized subdials) production and the only year a "GT" would have the second "3" (for COSC certification) in the model number. The "GT" was dropped for the remaining years (2001-2004) of standard Chronomat production and of course the subdial design had been changed to a different style. (not as attractive IMHO) Gina's watch is a "one year wonder" and she is quite fortunate to have come across and acquired this elusive piece.
