Watch for watch, the size is so different. If it was the only watch you had, and you really liked your 'fish, I'd think you'd miss the size of it in short order. I believe, though, that you have some other sizeable Breitlings, so for variety the Rolex might be a good switch.

My primary concern would be that 'Fish seem to be a little harder to come by these days. Some days I miss the one I owned, though I've pretty much moved on. Still, if you're missing the Sub after a year or close to it, that's a good indicator that you need one in your collection. Only you know how much you miss it, but it sounds like this might be something worth doing for you.

Know him well and know where he bought it.

Ya have a few other Breitlings and a 2012 Sub C. lying around some where  but the SF, well anyone the own's one knows the rest. Its kinda a head heart thing, it seem a very good deal for little coin considering my fish is unmarked but still all the same second hand. Take the SH value of the SF plus the 1.5k The head starts thinking, but then the heart starts pounding!

You keep saying things like this, and I have no idea why. Your posts frequently demonstrate that you are completely out of touch with this forum, and this comment is so far away from being true it's not even funny.

@breanach78, without knowing Irish pricing or what 1,500 Euros would buy my immediate reaction is that you should try to negotiate down a bit, but........ in a few years time that's going to seem like a great deal as the Rolex does a better job of holding it's value. Not going to comment on watch choice because they are so objectively different that it has to be a subjective heart driven decision.

I wouldn't do it personally, but then I had an LV myself and hated the bracelet and clasp. But that's just me.......

Now, if it was for a later/new model Submariner, then that'd be a totally different story IMO, as I think they're superb watches. (Price might be totally different too though! :D )

Thanks, the heart and the mind are funny things! and watches do funny things to grow men!

Have the Sub C. And probably would not do without it but I rather like the foil clasp and light bracelet! The case and more so the lugs are certainly a point I am draw to on the older sub. Horses for courses all all that!

Thank for the options Guys!

dude if you miss it then its a no brainer. having a subc and then the 16610LV would be a pretty cool little lineup. i know the SF is a big hit but if it were me I would probably make the trade plus cash.

I'm no fan of the 16610LV or Rolex in general, but even I would say in such a case, if your heart is really in it, this is a good deal IMO. I would do it. In a little bit, if you still miss your fishy, you can replace it easily, and if your crush on the 16610LV wears off, it will hold it's value better.

JMHO!!!

In that case I'd say go for it if you are missing the LV!

I must be honest, but I too loved the head - superbly well finished - it's just the lightweight hollow centre-linked bracelet and tin-foil clasp that I hated....... and yet it didn't seem right to put it on a strap somehow. I've been really hoping Rolex would make an LV Sub C, but so far the green bezel only comes with the green dial, not the black dial. Plus the ceramic green doesn't seem to "pop" as much as the anodized green on the LV. Shame.

Sounds like a great deal to me. You won't have trouble flipping the 116610LV down the line if you decide to go in a different direction.

I can't stand the Rolex bracelet. I recently acquired one. I guess I'll post some pics (they came out HORRIBLY), but.....just feel like the bracelet is too light.
