I think I am going in the direction of interesting vintage watches rather than going for new/recent models. Not necessarily lings or expensive pieces, just interesting stuff.

beware, this is dangerous territory, it can be highly addictive !

Amen to that!

I narrowed my collecting down to vintage chronographs only. Unfortunately that's not quite as narrow as I thought. Sooo many interesting old chronos out there at decent prices. I added about 20 in the last 6 months. Too many, but never enough.

Right now I'm focused on completing my 769; and then I have a couple of specific pieces on my short list. Thinning out all of my non-chrono collection and a few generic chronos is more than likely in the cards as my next move. Once that's done, it's going to be quality over quantity .... In theory. :)

Hee hee!! It's chronographs that I love so I will heed your words of caution! Three lings and I'm still not content....... :?

I have been considering dropping all three of my current collection and replacing them with one work and one weekender. For work I prefer leather straps and for the weekend I would like a brushed bracelet with some flair to it.

The two spot I am set on at the moment would be the TO 1461 when it comes out and a Rolex Explorer II in white. That would be one helluva 1-2 punch for my purposes.

I doubt that I will ever be done. I am becoming more selective now, but still a lot of brands that are underrepresented or not represented that I think that there will always be room for some more. Plus I am sure that my tastes will continue to evolve as I get older and watches that I think look cool now might not work.

You should post a couple pics of your rarer ones.

I would like to sell my B4B (currently in the sale section) and add either: vintage 5513 or 1680. Also considering a DJ II, TT ceramic sub, or .........mind changes daily. 4 is a good number for me so the Bentley has go before I add a new piece.

I have to be honest, I'm not completely satisfied with my collection. I am relatively new to watches, and felt like I really didn't do all of my research. I settled on a Colt (which I really like) because I wasn't sure if I'd like watches. I also made a purchase that I must say, regret: A B&R BRS. I really don't think I'm going to like it, even after a strap change.

If I could go back, I would take the money from both watches and use it to buy a nicer Breitling. I'm young, so I'll just take it as a learning experience and I will be more patient in the future. Hopefully I will be able to add more in the future!

My collection is broken down to about 70 Art Deco pieces from the 20's and 30's which I buy sell and trade for other Art Deco pieces and modern pieces, The rest another 60 pieces are Aviation , Divers , Manufacture Pieces plus Iconic watches . I can't put a number on how many or how few I will buy each year.
