on a rather unimportant side note - is this the original strap, looks like dark brown lizard ?

It's this one, viewtopic.php?f=11&t=37602 it was boxed like this in 1955 and never used, and yes, the strap is brown and says "Alligator Lizard" on the inside.

Absolutely not, none of the watches in my collection have ever been serviced by me, there's always a potential risk in having a vintage watch serviced, and since I never use them anyway, there's no need for having it done.

I do a visual cleaning of the case if needed, and replace the crystal, but again - only if needed, as I prefer to keep them as original as possible.

I have not even seen the movement on this one, and doubt that I ever will.
