Are the crowns the same for early (806) and later (809) Navitimer movements?

yes, but most crowns advertised as being for 806's and 809's are really not the correct crown

Ouch - so it arrives but doesn't fit? Or it fits but isn't exact original appearance?

they do fit, but many are incorrect in size (6.8mm) and even more do not have the correct "teeth" count (34, I think), though frankly this will probably only be noticed by Kurt B.
